Sabato De Sarno - Designer

He wasnt that bad it was just too big for him. They should have started him with a smaller brand so he could have developed his design language.

Can you imagine a re-evaluation of Sabato's tenure?
As follows:
He wasn't the worst >
Actually, he wasn't bad >
He was ok, but the management was superchaotic >
He was solid, he only had poor marketing >
I am starting to warm up to his subdued universe >
Prices in the vintage market go up >
They skyrocket>
Cult designer, Margiela level.

🤭

On holiday in Mykonos...can you get any more basic than this?
...and this guy was supposed to inject new life at Gucci LOL

Rent free? Please. I was literally talking to a friend in the industry about Demna at Gucci , Sabato came up in context. You know, like people do on a fashion forum.

What’s even funnier is how quickly you ran into the thread, like a landlord collecting rent on the 1st to see what was said when you could’ve just kept scrolling instead of being the first to reply.

Let people talk. lol

Never forget guys...
A 3k 100% polyester GUCCI logo gray hoodie paired with GG monogram embossed shorts and unwalkable triple stacked platform loafers (I don't think they managed to sell more than 10 pair of these worldwide).
One of the most anticipated fashion debuts in history reduced to a soulless display of cheap looking entry level merchandise.
To think that this look (and the whole fiasco collection) got validated and approved by AT LEAST 5 people getting 6 figures salaries speaks volumes about how f*cked up Gucci / Kering was at that moment.
I think we reached rock bottom for both Gucci and Kering with this collection.

The soundtrack was fire, though...

I’m not going to lie, it’s a pretty good show. Does that mean the clothes are any good? Absolutely not! But it is fun to watch. As for the rest of his shows… BORING!
I feel guilty…but I have to confess that sometimes it’s a sort of guilty pleasure to put this show while I’m walking because the music makes me walking fiercely…it’s a perfect show to “listen without watching” 😅
