Sabato De Sarno - Designer

I confess I'm happy for him. I didn't like his Gucci, but I think he deserves a second chance because he was ridiculed for no reason; the comments were cruel. I hope he takes advantage of it and proves them wrong!

PS: That men's collection with looks that are a version of the women's collection is very good.

Honestly his look is perfect for Ferragamo.

It’s hard to have a problem w Ferragamo because they have very high quality.
Dear, Ferragamo, is also on the list of Italian prosecutors large-scale probe into the luxury fashion industry's supply chains, requesting information from 13 top houses, including Prada, Versace, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, and Ferragamo.
suspected of using subcontractors who exploited Chinese workers in Italy, according to documents issued on Dec 4 2025 by a Milan prosecutor.

Milan prosecutors have already launched investigations against Tod’s, Loro Piana, Dior’s Italian subsidiary Manufactures Dior, Giorgio Armani Operations and Alviero Martini.

If Loro Piana is already under investigation what you think about Ferragamo run by a family constantly fighting with each other !!!!
That they won't cut corners to keep cost down!!!?? ...its Italy its a national sport !!! lol

Wait...Alviero Martini is still making those ugly as hell accessories with map prints?? And he is selling them enough just to...produce them???

Sabato is back! Ancora Ferragamo!

I couldn’t care less about “investigations”.

bring it on! i live for his comeback, i think he is perfect for ferregamo. He had fresh designs but was not always groundbreaking enough for gucci if that makes sense. I think it will be perfect for Ferregamos old clients and maybe will bring in new ones. Those old money asian aunts will love his collections.

What was not enough for Gucci, might be fine for Ferragamo.

In the end, it is not about being a genius, but being the correct match for that specific house.
agree but i bet you all he will underdeliver still the level of taste is so basic that you have same issue now at ferragamo that its just says nothing being modern is not enough.

These design won't be good enough for Ferragamo either:

but happy to see this circus on fold :)

I have no idea how he managed to succeed in the interviews with Bizzarri, Bellettini and Pinault and get the job offer for Gucci (unless all the other candidates refused the final offer and Pinault was forced to settle down to the only one accepting LOL). He either trolled the Kering management big time (by getting the jig, the leave / firing check and adding Gucci to his resume while doing the bare minimum) or he's the perfect example of "being at the right moment at the right time": Kering had no clue how to restructure Gucci after kicking out Lallo and they bet on the guy with the Valentino guy working as PPP right hand.
You can clearly see he's the most basic gay guy ever: in the way of dressing, in the way of using his social media (typical guy who spams heart emoji as sign of appreciation instead of writing something meaningful or just contact the other person privately), in his interests (modern art of course), in his personal life: hanging around with his dogs and treating them as little babies, one of them being named "Luce" cause, you know, Luce in italian means "Light" and light is one of the world driver as it is necessary to sustain organisms life and blah blah blah (add pretentious stuff as his "Ancora" statement). Everything about him screams plain basicness mixed with insecurities and willingess to get approval from the gay fashion circle. He had 4 runway shows to prove others he had a vision and the best he came up with was a GUCCI grey polyester hoodie sold at 3k and the SS25 show with the sun cycle inspiration and the runway venue colors verging from white to red in a degradè of colors...groundbreaking. He failed in building a vision and in design womenswear, menswear, daywear and even eveningwear (remember those monstrosities from Gucci Ancora Notte?).
He's the typical gay guy who never listened or knew a Charli XCX song released before Brat but instantly turned into her best fan right after the Brat mayhem became relevant among the queer community...
It was like 6 shows in total right? And one prefall collection?
Agree on almost everything, i dont know the guy but yes he needs to keep dancing and jumping, we deserve some fun lol…that’s all my expectations about his “work”

Ps : Did you guys “remembered” his documentary? Haha embarrasing

That’s wild. The Ferragamo family deserves the total downfall of the brand they’ve mismanaged for so long.
So Marco Gobbetti left there last year, is there a new CEO?

Sabato can do another one of his dances, because after those tepid Gucci collections, being hired as creative director anywhere other than Pinko or Elisabetta Franchi should exceed his wildest dreams.
When we saw the pictures of his apartment or office (I can’t remember which), with the Taschen books lined up, we could have already known how deeply cultured and inspired he was

Having said that, I’m open to being pleasantly surprised, of course!

I basically use no Instagram but today I came across the boringnotcom post about Sabato and it’s crazy the amount of people that were happy in the comments.

Imagine me commenting NASA posts. I could never. How on Earth people feel entitled to post about fashion as if they had any knowledge about it?

Sometimes I envy this kind of twobraincelled people. The audacity they have is incredible.

I just wish it’s a bigger flop than Gucci. They diserve it. BUT I am sure it will kind of work for them. Fashion people are so incredibly s!lly that they will hype it up. They love a redemption story.

Also, regarding Maximilian, I’ve seen it’s just people with certain similarities the ones hyping him just because they kinda feel recognized in him. But dear lord he was as bad a Sabato at Gucci or even worse. Imagine you are from Georgia and you feel the need to hype Demna just because you were born there. It’s 2026 already, we should get over those things and try to be objective about people’s work.

It’s crazy a brand as big as Ferragamo never had a talented creative director. They are probably one of the worse managed companies out there.
