Saint Laurent S/S 2025 by Francesco Clemente

I usually like his work but this is very art class in kindergarten.
They said his paintings average 250k and with the halo effect of YSL they might cost more. I guess they trying to steal those gallery ladies from other brands with real artworks.

Maybe I am too shallow and don't have the good taste to appreciate those paintings. If I didn't read the title, I could not tell who they were. I agree with @GivenchyAddict that they should have used fashion illustrations instead even though YSL has a long history with the art world. For a theme like this, they should call Paloma Picasso!

The idea is great and I get what they were going for, but I am not liking the execution. There's a building near my home in the 6th of Paris that Kering brands seem to advertise on often with huge billboards. I am curious if they will make these into huge building size billboards as well ?

I like this idea but don’t like the execution per se. I don’t know why the Isabella Ferrari painting reminds me of Joni Mitchell’s cover for Both Sides Now lol

You know, reading comments on TFS generally make me feel uncultured but inspired to learn more and grow.

But seeing these artworks make me appreciate my ignorance, that I don’t “get it” because otherwise I wouldn’t be finding these as hilarious 💀

I saw a post about this on Anthonys instagram but I didn't realise this was the actual campaign

It’s not about what you know, it’s who you know. Always has been and always will be

Like many of us, Anthony likely grew up on Gwyneth’s impossibly romantic “Great Expectations”, that featured Francesco’s drawings. And since he snatched her for the current campaign, he had to also feature Francesco’s drawings to tie to both to his SL. That, and also Versace also commissioned Francesco to rework the Medusa motif for the campaign at around the same time. Anthony’s very easy to read. Probably Francesco’s worst fashion collab to date, but the final ad layout actually gives Anthony's usual fashion-101 corporate branding some purchased soul. It’s got a whiff of that arts-and-crafts sensibility that can be found in a desktop publication like Lucy’s back in the mid-2010s.

I like the Saint Laurent Logo and that's it. Doesn't even look like Zoe Kravitz. Is she getting paid for that?
I'm confused ...
