Samantha is 15 years old and from Australia. Her mother is Aboriginal and her father is of German descent. I remember her in the Girlfriend model comp from a few years ago, and really liked her.

I read in our local newspaper that she's just done a fashion shoot with Patrick Demarchelier for US Glamour, so I really hope she's going to be big. You rarely see Aboriginal models, and she seems really sweet from her interviews. I think she's been mentioned briefly in some other threads, but now she's getting bigger she deserves to have her own

Her features are gorgeous, especially her lips. And she is pretty tall as well, she has lost a bit of weight since she was in the Girlfriend model comp. I remember her as being a bit chubby, but her face stood out from all the others.

In the wake of a Gale, a new model

The star-struck masses robotically applauded Megan Gale each time she hit the catwalk at Wednesday's David Jones fashion extravaganza in Sydney's Town Hall, but in her wake a 15-year-old girl from northern NSW was the one capturing all the adulation.

Samantha Harris, who has the potential to become Australia's first Aboriginal supermodel, has been described as "humble" and "sweet" by hardened modelling types .

Her beauty has already captivated some of the world's leading photographers. Last year she was flown, with a chaperone, to New York on the request of internationally-acclaimed photographer Patrick Demarchelier to appear in a shoot for Glamour magazine.

She had never been overseas and had hardly left her home town of Bonora Point.

However, back in the real world, she must fit her modelling commitments between her school timetable at Tweed River High School on the Queensland-NSW border, where she lives with her family.

"It's so wonderful this is happening for her. She is such a sweet girl," says Kathy Ward, of Chic model management, which handles Harris.
"I don't think this is happening because she is Aboriginal. I think it's happening because she is so beautiful," Ward said.
"She has the potential to make it to the very top of the international modelling game. The sky is definitely the limit. But she has to wait until she finishes school and matures before taking it on. We are slowly exposing her to the industry, bit by bit. I think major things will come her way following the David Jones shows."

Harris will now join the David Jones travelling fashion caravan as it visits five Australian capitals, with a total of 38 catwalk trips.

oh i love this girl so much-

i saw in an interview that she was really keen on modelling, and at the girlfriend model search, she had her entire family with her and they were like the 1st ones there. I hope she achieves her dreams and goes big- she's a real darling!

What a koinkidink. There's this black 'cool' girl at my school with the same name, and when i read the title, i was like 'NO WAY!' (no offense to blacks.) But now that i saw this Samantha, she actually is quite pretty. And the fact that she's first nations makes it so much more interesting.
