Club Monaco: In school you were interested in science and mathematics. How did you become a model?
Sara Blomqvist: I think it was more that I was good at it, and I like to do things I'm good at. I got scouted at a horseshow when I was thirteen and started to work a bit in Sweden when I was around sixteen. When I was eighteen, I went down to Paris for my first time, and the following fall I booked a Prada exclusive that I guess was the start of my career.
CM: How has your family and they way you grew up inspired your life today?
SB: My parents have always been very open to everything. They are both artists and they've always loved to travel, so when my sibling and I were younger they took us all over. We never stayed at resorts, instead we stayed in people's houses or small B&B's, moving around between different villages and cities. It really let us see the real cultures of the countries instead of getting a touristic view, and I think it made me realize how fortunate I was at a very young age.
CM: What was your childhood dream?
SB: I believe I wanted to become a veterinarian, something that I still wouldn't mind to practice. I think I was quite cocky as a kid, and I've always had the vision that I can become whatever I want.
CM: How would you describe your style?
SB: Quite simple. Layers and muted colors that blend well together. I'm not much for crazy patterns. I do tend to like a bit of everything though.
CM: What was your favorite Club Monaco look/item from the shoot and why?
SB: I really liked the silk blouses, the hats, and the jewelry. Simply because I could see myself wearing them.
CM: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
SB: If I knew that, it would kill the excitement of having a whole life ahead of me!
