I find it interesting that she's talking of writing and directing, and shaking up the industry, but you get the impression that p*rn is a monolithic sector that sees no need for change, and certainly no interest in anything that'll stop the profits, they'll keep on selling what already works. Is she willing to work on the fringes of the industry, where there might be more licence for experimentation that's not so commercial?
At the moment, she's a novelty, so it's hard to say how things will develop for her. Will she be yet another young person in that industry with big ideas that come to nothing? There's not really a long tradition of p*rn performers being 'allowed' to cross over and leave that definition behind. Sure, plenty have popped up in the occasional mainstream film here and there, but they get treated with curiosity and used for media coverage - actual respect over time for their wider skills or work is never that forthcoming. It's as if their first job always defines them, no matter what else they do with their lives. It's as if there's an unspoken commandment that "you are a p*rn star and a p*rn star you must stay", even if they want to move on to something else.
