So I just came back from the supermarket and guess who I saw?

I didn't find any thread on general authorizations questions and since this thread is very popular I thought I'd ask your opinions here...

It's sold in Leclerc, the biggest hypermarket chain in France. The brand is "KY création" but they don't even have a website. I don't know much about image rights and copyrights issues but it surprised me to see a photography by Sanchez & Mongiello that was published in Numéro printed on a cheap shirt. Maybe I'm just being petty because it would also be surprising for this brand to take the risk to give such an exposure to their product if the picture is not allowed to be used.
There's also a strange text on the bottom right of the shirt that didn't make much sense. After a quick search though I came across this excerpt from an article written by Miranda Purves.
I'm sure my father is glad he'll be retired before anything like that happens. And without getting into the philosophical pitfalls that a conversation about "authentic selves" invites (am I more me when I cry or when I stifle it?),I am confronted with the surprising thought that, despite my frequent railing against the falseness required by contemporary life (or who knows, perhaps it was always thus), I instinctively question whether Kreamer's goal for the twenty-first century is a worthy one. I also wonder if it is actually her goal. Dare I say, as I read, that I begin to question her authenticity.
The whole thing is suspect IMO and I wonder if the people whose work and image were used gave their authorization for this.

i go to the university of san francisco and we have alot of chinese students - i saw a black and white shirt of that photo which happens to be one of my all time faves of sasha! it was more rock n roll, and had chinese lettering on it, so it looked really cool and interesting

I think it´s a very usual practice -worldwide-, to take images and print them everywhere without paying copyright... I have a nice crop top with a Kate Moss image printed on LOL

I know it's frequent in some countries but I posted this because it's sold in the biggest supermarket chain in France (the equivalent of Walmart in the US) where copyrights laws are strict.

This is one of my favourite Prada campaigns ever from her. And so great to see her back!

I'm so glad she's back, and a Prada campaign makes her come back even better !
