I did a search back on him and noticed quite a number of negative reaction to his S/S 05...but in the SAMPLE book that McQueen had curated part of,he picked Sebastian and it had some of this collection in it which I really enjoyed. I never paid much attention to his work, admittedly. It's actually much stronger than the S/S-a bit costume-y,still but that seems quite relevant at the moment considering all the baroque and Victorian influences. A la Balenciaga.

^he is,indeed. Majorca to be exact...where another McQueen protoge in Miguel Adrover is from...and also a former assistant to him as well.

Honesty I think it's pretty amture looking and yes, very costume-y.I do like the one tapestry dress though
I liked some of his stuff, but alot of it looked 'heavy'

Well,in the images in the book,on close inspection really impressed me...the details. And you can definitely tell for whom he honed his skills with because he does have lovely, precise cutting and a beautiful emphasis on intricacy. However,I do agree that it might be a bit "too" costumey...a bit too literal. That's probably his only downfall taking things a bit too literally his influences and not really twisting them in a distinct and contemporary manner. Unlike McQueen does.

I like the first 3 in post #2. It's very "folk"sy ... and with colours played down, I'm sure it will look nice and fashionable to wear. What I don't like in the clothes is the colours...
Also, it's interesting to see prints on garments like that (last ones in post#1)--those giant paintings... :D

It seems that his inspiration came from the spanish master paintings ... even in the not figurative outfits you can tell by the palette ... another one who jumps into the baroque wagon (tho I think that's just his mood)

^yeah I agree.

My favourite thing out of the entire collection is that milk-maid outfit at the end of my original post. I do enjoy all the brocades.

jennifer...me too ;) Have a special affinity for brocades too! It's really rich and decadent this but sometimes decadence isn't a bad thing. I'm just happy to see designers playing with it in the older sense of the term.
