Hello everyone,
I’d like to share a truly unique piece with the community and would appreciate any expert feedback or historical insight.
Item:
• Brand: Arnys (pre-Berluti era, Paris)
• Type: Bespoke/prototype leather jacket
• Material: Premium Solofra “Vera Pelle” leather
• Lining: Full ARNYS jacquard lining (including sleeves)
• Hardware: Lampo zipper, Fiocchi snaps
• Label: No commercial label (consistent with prototype/workshop status)
• Provenance:
• Authenticated by D’Arienzo Collezioni (Solofra, Italy)
• Berluti archive acknowledges possible prototype/archival status
• Documentation:
• Full set of expert letters, provenance, and high-res photos available
Context:
This jacket was most likely produced as a prototype or for a private client in the late 1980s–1990s, when Arnys collaborated with Italian workshops for limited runs. The combination of full jacquard lining, premium Italian leather, and top-tier hardware is extremely rare even among vintage luxury pieces.
Questions:
• Has anyone encountered similar bespoke or archival Arnys jackets?
• Any advice on further authentication, historical context, or valuation in today’s collectors’ market?
Thank you in advance for any input or references!
