Seon Hwang from Clyne Model Management (don’t mistake her for Sean please) wishes she could time travel. We kind of wish that too. Even though it’s good to live in the moment, wouldn’t it be ideal being able to give our 14 year old selves some much needed advice on not to sweat the small stuff.

Anyway, we really like you Seon.

Where are you from? I’m from South Korea, moved to NZ when I was seven.

Age: 17

Height: 5’8’1/2

Favourite Colour: Bright bold colours + white.

How long have you been modelling for and how did it all begin? It’s getting close to two years now. It all began because of my sudden interest in modelling. I was able to go into my current agency, then I got lucky.

Apart from modelling, what else do you do? I go to school! So basically I’m living a double life as an ordinary school girl and as a model the next day.

What did you want to be when you were younger? And were you a wild child, or shy? When I was younger I really want to be a fashion designer but somehow it started to change as time went by. I was both! Shy, but wild in some areas.

What do you do to keep fit? To be honest I don’t do anything at the moment. My to-do-list this year is sign up with a close gym and go twice a week.

Whose styling do you admire? I LOVE Alexa Chung’s style

What does your own wardrobe consist of? A lot of second hand clothes from my sister and a collection of different colour skinny jeans.

What’s your all time favourite classic album? Hmmm … too many! I was always a fan of the Beatles and David Bowie.

And book? I was and still am in LOVE with the Harry Potter series.

Where’s your favourite place in the world? The beach!

What’s your favourite season and why? Definitely spring. You can say it’s the shortest season out of the four but I like the feeling of spring and the word itself is quite attractive

Do you have a nickname? I don’t know if you can call it a nickname but people read my name as Sean A LOT.

The one thing you can’t live without? My laptop. NOT A DAY.

Who or what inspires you? A lot of people, my family, friends, teachers … List goes on and on.

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why? Time travel! I would love to travel in to the future (and maybe the past every now and then).

Define the word ‘beautiful’! Someone or something that has a sense of attractiveness or charm, both inside and out.

What’s the best piece of advice you were ever given? The three L’s. Learn from the past. Live in the present. Look in the future.

For Fashion Quarterly, and I'm so excited about this ed cause I just realized that I saw her during the shoot for the 6th photo 2 months ago when I was in the city for a choral competition! She looked so stunning but very scared and innocent being watched by a lot of people. I knew she looked very familiar but the make up was really strong for me to be sure it was her.
