She's A Rebel F/W 07.08

'ew' lol.

I really like this as I've already become sick of the pretty flowery pastelly boho girly stuff that always seems to be plastered everywhere during the summer. I don't think this could work in hot weather but maybe as a nod to the 'tougher' side of fashion, a white shirt with rolled up sleeves would look cool.

I think this trend looks so stunning and lady like when kept minimalistic. Overdoing it will make you look like a rocker-wannabe.

Who said rebels always wore black? Rebellion at Preen:

The notion of this can make for either an interesting fashion approach... or just another way to hype up hard rock. "She's tough, she's got the edge..." Kind of sounds like an end to prissy, girly-girl stuff and going to something with a bit more character. I'm not Mr. Rock-all-day. I have no problem with chunky boots (only as long as they aren't any of those laced boots a Goth girl would wear). It is definitely an edgy style exhibited. I guess my favorite picture is in Post #8 with the lady in trousers. It's a real classy look even if all-black (not a reference to the New Zealand All-Blacks rugby team). Fashion designers thought that showcasing '80s stuff in the form of leggings and other intentional fashion disasters would work. I'm just hoping something like this doesn't have some hard rock or Goth influence to fashion. Especially not with those in my demographic (18-25 years old). There are still a good number of hits with these looks with a few misses.

By the way, I also like the pictures Luxx posted in Post #16. I always wondered what would happen if real bellbottoms (not just regular flares. Elephant ears, baby!) made a comeback. And I truly hope tucking boots into pants or jeans doesn't make an encore ever again unless it's for functional use with most of the pictures in Post #18.

That is one reason I like F/W more than S/S...options. Besides not liking hot weather, I don't like the clothes that come along with hot weather. This kind of look is what I really like about fashion, the combination between strength and feminine touches.

I love this trend, however I interpreted the trend more of a juxtaposition between the 'rebel' and the lady and it works more effectively that way, rather than just 100% 'hardness'. I like the Rag & Bone, Lanvin and YSL looks :D It is a nice change from the prettied up boho frippery of seasons past.

I love this trend too and it really suits my style. I've always liked this kind of clothes and looks and dress in quite a "rocker but chic" way.

quite possibly my favorite trend ever. i would wear any of the clothes posted in this thread.

is it fall yet???

^ Just my thought - where's the fall! Is anyone representing this trend for summer?? Can it be done, or does it require dark colors? :ninja:

I really love this trend
Yesterday, I bought the perfect, buttersoft, tight, black leather that will soot this look perfectly.

I love the Ann Demeluemeester! And the Burberry works well too!
Thank you for the thread! :)
