I like the tough chick look, the layering, the ease with which I can add some little shiny things... it's easy to create and maintain since I can mix and match practically anything. With black as my basic color, I use satins, silks, linen and lace underneath in really brilliant colors or complex patterns - color and texture peeking out here and there. I have tried the look out in a couple of business meetings and I think it works in business just as much as it works on the street. What I really like about the current trend is that there is NO attempt to dress women up as men, or reduce feminity, or the superthin crap. Yes, it is a strong statement look, but it is totally healthy female for me. I look forward to seeing what other designers do...
