She's A Rebel F/W 07.08

It's being done so well right now by many... really a good look, imo. :flower:

i LOVE them!
i tend to dress with the same "feeling" like those, i want to look feminime but strong at the same time.

My mother told me I was too tough - that no man would ever want to marry me (as thought that's the only aspiration I might have  ). And her argument was only about what I wear on the street. I like the tough chick look, the layering, the ease with which I can add some little shiny things... it's easy to create and maintain since I can mix and match practically anything. With black as my basic color, I use satins, silks, linen and lace underneath in really brilliant colors or complex patterns - color and texture peeking out here and there. I have tried the look out in a couple of business meetings and I think it works in business just as much as it works on the street. What I really like about the current trend is that there is NO attempt to dress women up as men, or reduce feminity, or the superthin crap. Yes, it is a strong statement look, but it is totally healthy female for me. I look forward to seeing what other designers do...

By far one of the best trends I have seen in a while. I agree with so many of your comments, its rock chick, without forgoing feminity or succumbing to oversexualisation, which happens all too often in these edgier looks.

I'd love it when more girls here would wear that. It is so much better and fresher then the sexy-cute look that is all over the place. But i doubt if it would catch on, but you can always dream ;).

LOVE IT! Every single picture I'm having heart palpitations-

I like to call is Bounty Hunter Chic.
har har!

This is definately MY kind of style - looking forward to seeing it in the shops. The recent flowery, smocky, floaty look is just not my kind of thing at all.
Rock-chic for ever!

I also see some of this style in Rag & Bone F/W (The name is hard enough!):

Perhaps subtler references, but I love Tanya's loose dress with the matte leather trousers.

And also more obvious references at Hermès:

beautifully stated!:flower:

Ditto for me. I love this look - it's powerful without being masculine. I've noticed that the F/W looks have a cleaner feeling than similar styles from seasons past. Personally, I'd rather look like tough chick than anything else - truth in advertising :).
