Sies Marjan Mens S/S 2020 Paris

Looks like someone is trying very hard to fit in with the Parisian roster. Don't hate it, the collection actually looks refined and wearable without having to break it up first. But the women's looks are Monse-lite. And of course, there had to be Tevas, with socks. Doesn't get any more Dutch than that, does it?

^ LOL. (Okay personally I'm still rooting for him).

I know he's trying so hard to fit into the Paris scene. There's no way he could've presented this in NYFW as a solo men's show - there's no press willing to come and cover that.

It's much better than that RTW collection with the crystals - and I hope the materials are little more luxe this time around. I felt a lot of the fabrics from the Sies section at Barneys - not quite as pleasurable to put on one's body.

Colors are great as always.

LOL, I get why he moved, but the last men's line just about picked up a bit of a following on that side, and now he's in Paris. We'll see how it goes.

Some of his crushed satin shirts from last season are currently on sale and I'm torn between either mustard or midnight blue version.

Does this mean Marie Chaix and Thomas du Klyver are out for them? This would be their 3rd stylist and makeup rotation in less than 4 years.

I wanted to love it but it just feels unnecessary and very Loewe in a low brow way. Do we really need the brand in general especially in their determined price point. Would you invest in a quirky piece from them or go with a trusted heritage brand like Loewe.

Personally each collection feels self involved and more pushy than the last but not in a way I want to be challenged. More in a way if I had no identity to begin with which is one of the many issues with the brand itself. I just don’t know who the sies person is and it feels like he doesn’t either.

I wanted to like it, I really did. I love the energy Sander is bringing to NYC even if don't totally love his collections. But man, there is NOTHING here!

It's a collection full of nothing to wear! It's just one awkward mistake after another. Bless his heart for trying, but my god, if this is what you're going to do why bother with the expense of a mens collection? Clearly this is going to be a financial dead end.

It’s safe to say no matter how many comments and threads they have their lawyers threaten the forum to take down it’s obvious the brand is done. I loved his energy too but what I’ve heard and now witnessed with their attempt to shut down any negatives said about the brand even on here it’s time to just say it he’s not capable of carrying a brand on his own.

The only thing it seems he is great at is spending endless amounts of money on making crap that doesn’t sell. It proves that no matter how many famous names you attach to the brand and endless financial backing it just doesn’t make you talented or sellable.

Wait? What? I clearly missed something. They tried to do WHAT to the TFS?!?!?!?!
