It could be anything really. Coldness, smoking, lack of vegetables in her diet, lack of iron, bad circulation, lack of excercise, allergie...

Blue/Purple hands are a sign of oxygen shortage. I remember we studied this in Biology.
Diabetics have this problem a lot. It could just be an allergy thing or maybe she's a smoker or alcoholic- let's hope not.
