Sigrid Agren

^ thanks for the info. actually my first thoughts were also that it was a dior campaign because it is a great concept, but then i thought that would be a karlie monopoly these days. but it also makes sense as some promotional pictures for dior's china stores

hmmm... at least she's in a Dior advert, though I kinda find the shot really interesting.

More on the Dior pictures from trendland.net

Remember the beautiful series of photographs, tiitled “Stranger in the Glass Box“, Dior collaborated with Chinese photographer Quentin Shih to produce back in 2008 (see here)? Well, it’s time for round-two. This summer, for the reopening of the Dior boutique in Shanghai, the house of Dior called upon Shih once again to produce a series of images, using the last couture collection, that would be displayed in the boutiques windows.

Shih plays with surreal beauty and creates oil painting-style compositions by retouching his subjects and in this case using one Chinese stereotype and repeating it in a pattern to reinforce the rigor and uniformity of Chinese mass culture.

alas, it was entirely possible to present and emphasize galliano's creativity and sigrid's beauty without evoking the cliched and almost orientalist contrast between a vibrant and modern west and a monotonous and insipid east.

ironically, the political and ideological adherence of the more rebellious elements among chinese contemporary artists to this hackneyed theme and to portraying the population as at once vast and numb is precisely what makes china's contemporary art scene so uniform, dull and predictable (and consequently appealing to western critics)

just how did a pretty young girl from martinique get dragged into this ugly mess?

^Thanks for this. It was so much better than I expected it to be (from clothes and styling perspective) back to Sigrid though, I love her poise here its masculine and very feminine at the same time^_^

She looks like a totally different person in that hair and makeup! But gorgeous nonetheless. ^_^
