Snow White Film Thread

Well Viggo didn't do it for money, but I wonder why Hugh Jackman also dropped out?
I think it had something to do with the script, which is why they brought in someone to re-write it.

Variety said it was also due to asking too much money (and how he was too profiled for the project), but he was considered for the role after Viggo stepped out (so i'm not sure they changed anything in the script). my guess is that it had also to do with his comedy/standup tour he's doing at the moment (apparently there's some Broadway talk).

^Hugh Jackman is also attached to several big projects at the moment, including Tom Hooper's upcoming adaptation of Les Miserables. So it could just be a scheduling issue.

SWATH will be at comic-con, can't wait to see Charlize :woot:
Saturday, July 23
3:30-4:15 Universal Pictures: Snow White and the Huntsmen— Universal Pictures is bringing the stars and filmmakers of its epic action-adventure film based on the script Snow White and the Huntsman to Comic-Con. Scheduled to appear to discuss their roles in this breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale are Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Oscar winner Charlize Theron (Prometheus), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides). Director Rupert Sanders (Halo 3 campaign) and other filmmakers will also be on hand to reveal exclusive footage. Q&A session to follow. Hall H

^It's so weird that it will be at Comic-Con considering they haven't filmed one scene of the movie yet.
I think they're trying to get the twilight fanbase on-board.

It will be interesting to see if the cast has chemistry though.

not really, more and more the adaptations are having their first leg, even before the actually shoot starts, on comic con when it comes to promotion. as i said in another thread, nowadays, it's only the romcom's that aren't having conferences on CC. guess the bosses of CC are more about popularity than the specialized convention's nowadays.

If they are smart they'll put the boys upfront because neither Charlize nor Kristen are BO draw. They may grace us magazines and sell but they are no Angelina Jolie..

Is it bad to think Megan Fox would of made a great snow white. I hope the movie is done well and meets many of peoples expectations.

^Yes. Very bad. Lol.
If we're thinking of pretty, young brunette actresses then I think Jessica Brown-Findlay would make a great Snow White. :)

I second Jesscia Brown-Findlay! She's a great actress and I could see her playing snow white very well. Plus, I like the idea of snow white having a British accent, it would be cute.

Sean Bean cast as Snow White's father in Julia Roberts fairy tale
by Anthony Breznican

Sean Bean is in talks to join the as-yet-untitled fairy-tale adventure starring Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, according to sources close to the production. The English actor’s deal is nearly finished, and he will join the production already underway in Montreal. Lily Collins plays the title character in the movie (due March 16), while The Social Network‘s Armie Hammer co-stars as the prince caught between them as the innocent Snow White is manipulated and menaced by her wicked stepmother.

Where Bean’s character fits in is anyone’s guess, though smart money is on him not surviving to see this war between the fairest-of-them-all play out in its entirety. What’s with this guy and troubled patres familias?

Damn it. I would watch Sean Bean read the phonebook! Now I'll feel some sort of pull to watch it!

I bet he dies within the first 20 minutes though.
Sean Bean appears to have an affinity for kicking the bucket on-screen.

Adding to the list of the other fairy tale adaptations that are on the horizon, there's now going to be a live action Beauty and the Beast film that's rumored to star Emma Watson and will be directed by Guillermo del Toro.
