yeah, i totally forgot to post an interview with her SW costume designer. i know some over here like Colleen a lot, so here it goes:

Every mirror, mirror on the wall has been itching for a look at “Snow White and the Huntsman” star Kristen Stewart bedecked in her medieval mantle, and thanks to a few paparazzi pics and a just-released promotional banner, we’ve caught glimpses of the star in various guises. But we wanted to know more about her costuming in the 2012 release, so we hopped on the phone with Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, who explained the star’s transformation from “Twilight” teen to fairy tale titan. To be sure, Kristen is no princess in peril in this retelling—and her costumes reflect that. "She isn't playing a really fluffy kind of princess or anything, but she really, I think, is having fun getting to wear those kinds of things and she looks great in them," Colleen explained of the period pieces. "I think for an actor, getting to put stuff like that on for movies is more work because it's not in the comfort zone of a pair of jeans or sneakers. But it takes you to a different place in your mind and your body. She's been great to collaborate with."

And as Kristen's character transforms into a fiercer version of herself, so does her wardrobe. "Her costume evolves as the story unfolds," Colleen continued. "She runs away from a situation, and she's on the run for a long time, so as she's going, bits of it get torn away and it becomes a totally different animal by the time we get to another point in the movie. She has a couple other moments that are more 'costume' moments, but her basic costume—I think she wears it well, and I think it works really well in the parameters of the story."

As for the suit of armor we've seen in so many set snaps, it isn't real metal, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a certain heft to it. "It's not comfortable by any means. It probably weighs about 15 pounds. It's half her body weight," Colleen joked.

I remain underwhelmed by this film, I know people are probably about to gush over it (and get excited over Kristen), but the script was always dodgy, I just can't get on board with this. Their only real saving grace is Charlize (thank God for her) and judging by the fact she's the focus of the initial trailer they know that too. No Kristen speaking screams accent worry too. They're going to hype the crap out of this and they're going to need too. It'll get that teen market who think the monstrosity of Twilight is good film making.

Charlize does look amazing. She really pulls off those costumes. I think the trailer looks really good

imo, visually it looks FANTASTIC! and Charlize is the biggest star of the movie, it makes sense to me as a viewer that they´re focusing on her more.

It visually looks impressive but then again Mirror Mirror will also look brilliant (Tarsem Singh and everything).

Charlize looks incredible but I felt it needed more Kristen as she will likely be the only constant when promoting the film as Charlize will have Prometheus and Chris will obviously be made to pimp the hell out of The Avengers. I also wanted Nick Frost to make an appearance as I love him and he's definitely going to be one of the main selling points in the UK but that is more of a personal thing.

those are some amazing effects, i'm loving it aesthetically. i didn't expect it would look this good.
it's obv it's just a teaser and i think that the fact that charlize already did most of her work on the movie has more to do with the fact they included the most of her in it. she looks absolutely amazing in it tho, fierce - fierce - fierce!

I think the reason Charlize was used the most was because her scenes to me seem more visually striking where Kristen and Chris scenes were more similar to what we have seen in other movies in this genre, imo We didn't even get to hear Snow White talk which I would of really liked.

It should be interesting to see how the other Snow White tralier is going to look now they have an idea about this one.

I agree with you regarding the script, I was not super excited to see that Charlize picked that movie over the Eastwood one but I guess she wanted challenge and she definitely has it now. It is an iconic role to play. However, I am a bit disappointed by what I saw of her. I don't know which accent she tried to portray but it is an epic fail imo or maybe my ears are deceiving me. Kristen looks very good in that movie and that's great that they only show glimpse of her because the ppl who did not want her as SW won't be put off straight away, as for Chris, as charming as ever I would also have loved to see more of Sam too. This still looks a lot like LOTR, or LOTR trying to be epic. I definitely won't go to see it but I don't think the movie will fail or something like this at the BO. It may be Charlize saving grace after all As for her promoting, in addition to Prometheus she is going to shoot Mad Max in a few months time too. But I am sure she will do Letterman and Kimmel along with a Vogue cover at some point.

that makes sense too. these two are in line of what we've seen before in the movies visually. that scene with the sword and "soldier" killing another one and then he goes into 1000 pieces looks so good.

i'm loving these effects so much, tho i must say the whole teaser gives more of a wintery than summery feeling to the movie, no?

Well didn't they orginally want to release it in December but then changed it to June? I agree it seems more like a winter film release as opposed to summer but it was too close to The Hobbit. I think they did a smart thing changing the date. You don't want to compete with The Hobbit
