The man in Marc Jacobs' life, to the best of my knowledge, is and always has been Robert Duffy. They did have a rather public breakup awhile back, but my sense is it may be on again. One thing is certain--their relationship continues to be important. They got together when Marc was still a teenager--long-standing relationship. And Robert has been and still is very important to Marc's career and business. So he and Sofia truly are just friends. One of the reasons I like Marc and his clothes is that (unlike many gay men and many designers) he truly respects women in the way I want to be respected. Cf. Tom Ford and his remarks about flies and fragile wrists ... no thanks.

+ Milk Fed is a clothing line started by Sofia and a friend in the early 90s. She currently has stores in Tokyo and Los Angeles (Heaven 27). Her photographs have played a major role in the image campaign for her clothing line. In 1997 Harper's Bazaar named Milk Fed one of the best in Independent Fashion.
