It could be that Marc and Kirsten just couldn't make it, right? Marc must be busy getting ready for Fashion Week. Who knows what's up with Kirsten. But Sofia recently presented Marc's lifetime achievement award, and she was spotted with Kirsten at some event not verylong ago, so I don't think anything is amiss in either of their friendships.

Sofia Coppola Weds in Lavender Alaia!

Congratulations to Sofia Coppola and Thomas Mars who got married on Saturday in Italy. The bride looked lovely and happy and like the coolest gal in town - which, this being Sofia, she is! - in her custom-made lavender short Azzedine Alaia dress! So, the somewhat-confirmed-but-still-something-of-a-rumour reports that Monsieur Alaia would be designing the film director and style icon's wedding dress for her wedding to partner and Phoenix singer Thomas Mars were true but the short and sweet lavender sleeveless chiffon dress with a high round neckline, a diaphanous ruched top and pleated full skirt surpassed our expectations!

The wedding took place at the garden of the Coppola family's Palazzo Margherita in Bernalda, Italy where dad Francis Ford Coppola walked his daughter down the aisle. Guests included Johnny Depp and director George Lucas. Sofia kept her hair and make-up simple; slightly tussled hair and a dash of bright lipstick and she looked like her usual chic and nonchalant self! She accessorized her dress with a pair of simple black heels and doesn't she just look fantastic chatting to dad Francis Ford?! We bet she couldn't stop twirling and spinning in that dress!

And from sweet lavender to bright red! Sofia later changed into a strapless lipstick-red dress with subtle silk ribbons to the skirt and a pair of red espadrille wedges for the after-wedding dinner with family and friends.

At first the dress looked far too casual, but as i look at it more it's really nice romantic piece looking totally appropriate. She looks stunning and thered dress is very cute.

I think its just so *her*. TBH I really didnt imagine for one second she would wear a traditional bridal gown.

I didn't think that Sofia would go for a traditional bridal gown either, and I love the dress she wore. Absolutely gorgeous. And the after dinner dress, such a bright red, was not expecting that but she looks radiant and absolutely glowing.

Well, as far as I remember the dress from her first wedding ceremony was a traditionnal bride dress. I understand that with the second mariage, after having 2 babies with Thomas, she decided to chose a more casual dress.
