Solange Wilvert

it's Solanage, no?

scanned by kokobombon via US Allure Sept. 2008 thread :flower:

I think she looked much better when she first started.

She was a bit more fragile/ethereal looking when she first started but gosh her bone structure is so flawless, I actually think she is becoming more beautiful, she looks more classic and womanly.

solange has a great ed in the new australian vogue can someone in australia scan it?

Modelobserver.com interview:

Solange Wilvert (18), was born in Florianopolis, Brazil and is ranked as one of the top Brazilian models. She has done advertisements for notable clients as Chanel, Calvin Klein Choice, Fendi, Gucci, Jill Stuart, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney 'Stella' fragance, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent, to name a few. I caught up with her to chat about her meteoric rise to fame and to discover how she does it all.

* Solange, how are you?

Solange Wilvert: I am fine, thanks. Hope everything is fine with you too.

* At the young age of 14 you've started working internationally. What was the beginning like for you?

Solange Wilvert: The beginning was a bit hard, I was not used to be away so long from my family, to be walking around a big city by my own... to stay a whole day working and doing casting from early in the morning to later afternoon or sometimes later at night... but now I am more than happy when I have to go somewhere to work.

* What is your greatest success to date? How would you define success?

Solange Wilvert: For me, someone successful is someone who is happy with her job, when she has a great family and she is happy with her personal life.

* Tell me about an experience where you have been under a lot of stress and how you handled that situation.

Solange Wilvert: Something that makes me very stressed is when I have to catch a plane. Because I already catch everybody's attention because of my height, then I always go with a lot of luggage and when I am in the plane I always hit my head in something. Then, everybody stares at me, because they realize I am a model because of my height and laugh about it. And I am there, trying to accommodate my handbags and my body on the "tiny" space, ashamed.

* What do you think about when you're walking on the runway?

Solange Wilvert: When I am walking down the runway I think about where I am supposed to stop, if I am looking good and walking right and at the right place and rhythm.

* How does your lifestyle influence your eating habits?

Solange Wilvert: It doesn't change much, I eat every kind of food, especially sweet things, and I love chocolate and ice cream.

* Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, who was a famous German writer, said once: "No one has ever learned fully to know themselves". What do you think?

Solange Wilvert: I think that the key to know yourself deeply is to get some time to think about your actions and reactions, about how you relate with others, what do you do for yourself and others, and overall, be honest with your feelings and thoughts.

* How often do you go back to your native country?

Solange Wilvert: Every time I have the chance too. I could say, every 2 months if I am available.

* What is your relationship with your family?

Solange Wilvert: Is very good, to me, my family is the most important thing I have. I know they are and will always be ready to help me anytime I need.

* Which place in the world do you admire the most and for what?

Solange Wilvert: I love places where there is beach, like Florianopolis (South of Brazil), and would love to visit more places in America Central. Also, I would love to see Greece, Egypt and India, because of the culture and the history.

* After modeling so many collections of the world's leading designers, do you have some tips for women for how to choose clothes that will flatter their figure?

Solange Wilvert: I think that women have to respect their body structure, coordinating fashion trends with it and keep their personal style. A well dressed woman is notable for her elegance, good manners and sense of style.

* What most people don't know about you?

Solange Wilvert: That I don't smoke and don’t drink alcohol.

* Which qualities must a man possess in order to be with you?

Solange Wilvert: One important thing a man shall have to conquer me is have initiative, be kind, respect me and be fun.

* How does your morning begin?

Solange Wilvert: I wake up, make my breakfast, eat on my bed, then while getting ready, I turn some music on to cheer myself up and leave for my castings or job.

* What do you like to do in your free time?

Solange Wilvert: I like to go to the shopping mall, to the movies, visit the city where I am, and if possible, go to the beach.

* What are your goals for 2008?

Solange Wilvert: Get better and better at work and get my drive lessons...
