Sophia Kokosalaki S/S 09 Paris

I really like the grecian inspiration and the armour-inspired pieces. And that orange dress on Alyona  Gorgeus!

Some really strange pieces that look like they're moving by themselves!
Some good pieces.

weird construction..not really feeling this...
this is mostly a miss for me...

:ermm:

Sophia never dissapoints!
I really like this collection.
First Balenciaga and now her :woot:

I think it's really terrible; verging on ugly, rly..
This is so sad.. she's such a talented designer...

OMG!!! How gorgeous!

Though I have to agree with you guys that she'd done better things previous seasons, especially for fall seasons. Fall's just her standout seasons.

This spring to me is one of her better springs. Haha! I think she's just weak when it comes to colours.

shes probably in my top 5 shows from paris
shes absolutely incredible, her attention to detail and the way she weaves a theme throughout her whole collection in an interesting way is just mind blowing
that said i dont think this is as strong last last season
she seemed so severe and edited last season, to the point where it was all that was necessary, everything else was gone.

I do not like this. The silhouettes and the way the garments were made seem off to me. So much weird here and not in the good way! :ninja:

I agree on the fact that these clothes make look weird on most people ... but I cant help but like em ... I mean I love how the construction is a bit more tough and stiff from regular Sophia ... and palette is good ... Id so pick a piece here and there

oh I just love this  While the pieces are not all 100% new, it never feels contrived with her. The blue is stunning, in fact, the whole color palette for this collection is so 'on'. Love the little harnesses and vests and the sculpted shoulders that have a kind of 'layered armor' effect. I just wish I could afford her stuff

Too tortured in construction when married with odd lengths and volumes.
Not focused either. She's done better.

Some of the fabric choices are surprisingly cheap looking, and Bidwell is on the mark with the odd construction. The cuts, as usual though, are interesting. :/

this stuff is GORGEOUS, esp. the dress on Natasha..wow

wonder what happened when renzo rosso bought a stake in her company, she just vanished..

last time i checked she was selling bridal through netaporter

^ I follow her on facebook and/or instagram and she seems to be designing jewellery now. The last thing I saw of her bridal collection was beautiful.

I miss her collections too, thought went into her collections, this is what I liked about her, watching the show above I miss all of the recognisable faces as well.

A lot of her bridal designs could work just as well as evening/cocktail dresses if proposed in another color - like the rich jewel tones she often used in her RTW collections. It's a shame not to see her doing RTW in the classical sense anymore, even if it was just to offer just a tightly edited, non-seasonal dress collection.
