Sophia Malig F/W 05-06 (London)

I don't have any specific info on this designer, but I believe this was only her second runway season. I have to say it was a rather unbalanced collection at some points imo (don't think it's that unexpected for a newcomer?), switching from a quite tacky looking lilac strapless dress with silver prints to these pretty costumes in which I sporadically recognized a Charles Anastase or Melodie Wolf.

thanks for bringing this in, perlefine. i never heard of her before, i have to confess.
some pieces are really nice, like the dresses in the second post, but i'm not overly impressed with everything.....however, i hope to see more of her in the future.

i can see the anastase - wolf connection there ... also a bit tsumori chisato in the hooded sweaters...

I see Tsumori in the sleeves of the hoodies, good one. Enough with the comparisons I'm always and everywhere comparing, can't be good.
If I saw a 'hoodie' like the one in #4 I'd have to try it on, I think I'd feel like a big fuzzy polarbear in it, or little white riding hood

Hmm, interesting, perlefine.
The first white coat is my favorite. It reminds me of a children's coat. I agree with anna's tsumori chisato connection! the colors add to that, too.

The more I saw of it, the less decisive it seemed, and the less I liked it. It's too wishy washy -- trying to hit something. But I do think there is potential.
