Describe something that has changed the way you view the world: I went to a Rudolf Steiner School, it’s a school where they approach children by who they are and not by what they have to become. There I learned to see the value of different views of people; religion, art, science everything. But also my job made a lot of changes in how I look at the world.
How do you fight the blues? Sometimes I like the bleus. I don’t do anything about it. I listen to bleu music, put blue clothes on, and make blue food. I like being blue sometimes. And then, when I have enough of the blue, I turn into another color. I put pink music on, grap my yellow baseball cap, put red lipstick on. Just turn the dice I guess, if you don’t like the blue.
What song best describes your life? I have a lot of songs that tell the story of my life. I had very happy times, and blue times. They all have their own song. But this suite my life now: ‘Tout Doucement’ by Feist.
How do you like to spend your time when you’re not working? I like writing, painting, going to theatre, movies, biking around town. Seeing my friends, having dinner, lunch, drinks with them.
Describe the person you love the most: Warm, soft, honest, pure, old soul, funny, little weird.
What would you like to do before you die? Live in my new house in Amsterdam. Sit on the couch with a glass of Champaign, in my most chique red satin dress, my hair and make-up ’50. Then I make a picture with the self-timer on my camera.
What is your life’s mantra? I think you have to be open in life, to everything around you, but not to be naïve. Don’t do things only because they have a certain purpose. Do things because you think it is good, just because of the sake of doing them. Nowadays a lot of things have to do with money or pride. We like our ego’s a lot. I think sometimes you have to think beyond yourself. That’s really hard. But it is very important to try. And success is not the same as appearance. Success will fade, appearance will last on the other hand. But I guess the main thing is just to interact and have respect.
Describe your perfect day: Waking up beside the person I love, smell fresh sheets, see the sun shining outside, take deep breath and think: this can only get better. And it will. That’s the magic of a good start of a perfect day.
