It took me a while to get the hang of it.
Say you want to download something. There are 3 ways to find your tracks.
1: Userlist. I add tons of people with similar taste so it's easier to find what I'm looking for. Right click in userlist field > search for files in userlist.
2: Do the same thing in a chatroom, except you click in the chatfield.
3: Press 'search files' in the top navigation bar. Usually this way doesn't deliver the results you found through the other two, it's weird. I suppose you understand what
size,
d/l speed and
in queue mean

This is the most common way to find something.
In your 'transfers' screen you can see what you've queued up etc. In the column between your downloads and userlist you can select the max downloads at a time and max speed (set as high as possible

).
There's also the option to make it impossible for people to download from you or make it 'userlist only'. (options > file sharing configuration)
http://www.slsknet.org/ is quite helpful too.
Please note. You will always come across bugs and problems big and small, therefore updated versions are developed every once in a while.
