As we know, A/W07-08 Uomo from Dolce &Gabbana took inspiration from Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey...

...anything else from Kubrick related to fashion or style?
ie...Seven Army Nation from White Stripe and Clockwork Orange..

Let's discuss!!

Oh sorry my dears...yes I do mean Stanley Kubrick, the director.

Thanks Manolocraver.

Here is the WS " Seven Nation Army"

Well there is a futuristic trend right now so that apply to 2001: A Space Odyssey...

Certainly this Lolita image has spawned endless copies and variations:

He used a lot of saturated colours .. though I cant quite connect Kubrick and fashion ...

there have definitely been a lot of different shoots and images emulating the style and look of 'clockwork orange' which i think is one of the most innovative and creative films in existence. love the vadukul ed. !

I though this ad campaign shot was reminiscent when it came out (last year?)

Clockwork for some reason alway's leaves a bad taste in my mouth and yet I go back and watch it from time to time. You can't deny brilliance no matter how ugly it is.

Speaking of Futurism, I'm waiting for the whole Post-Apocalyptic trend to start...

It doesn't really count so much for this thread, but in this series of video interviews with Paris Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, you can see that one of the only items in her minimalist office is the copy of the big red book The Stanley Kubrick Archives... so it's probably safe to assume this his films and their aesthetics have had somewhat of an indirect influence on the magazine:

Vlada's done two Kubrick-inspired editorials ;) Predictably "Lolita" and "A Clockwork Orange", though I can't say I'm overly fond of the latter edit.

I have got to see a Kubrick movie. You know how many references you miss without having seen some things!?

i don't know much of kubrick's work but i've heard hussein chalayan's work is like his work. hussien is probably more similar to helmet lang though..

perhaps, this should be moved into the trends area??

but interesting nontheless. however,i think D&G did the Kubrick influence very poorly. Raf Simons did a better interpretation of that influence some years ago in his second season,i believe when he was inspired by 'A Clockwork Orange'.
