I don't know why, but the clockwork orange look works every single time for me.
It's just über-sophisticated and so timeless. Long live King Kubrick!

I think clockwork orange and requiem for a dream is the two movies i've regretted mostly on seeing.. Even though they are brilliant, i think i'm too sensitive.

anyway. The Dolce-collection, i hated. The bouncing hips-dress, i remember seeing it in the time-style edition some months ago, and wasn't it like 400 000 $ or something? and it's so ugly! i mean, i can understand the "love-factor" of haute couture, the use of it, and so, but i mean, if you purchase the dress, it would be more like a literally piece of art, like a painting, just watching it.. i guess you could donate it to a museum though. but that, and for shoots etc, has to be the only use, no?

poetiquez, punpanichewa and dreamecho, don't forget to credit your images otherwise they will have to be removed, it's tFS policy. :flower:

There's a feature in Nylon Guys from a few months ago with the exact title of this thread, I'll scan it shortly.

Maybe Kubrick was taking his inspirations from fashion. Clockwork orange was overflowing with fashion and stylistically pleasing scenes/objects.

wow this is a great thread! i'm a huge fan of kubrick. the Max Vadukul shots are very cool.

I think the actual costume designers for films should receive this attention and interest under Kubrick's filmography. For example, Oscar winner Milena Canonero did several films with Kubrick, for example, including Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, and The Shining.

thanks, Mullet, i totally spaced out on this one...

credit for the Lolita image in post #6 comes from allposters.com.

Didn't she do Marie Antoinette, too? Very prolific!

perhaps, this should be moved into the trends area??

but interesting nontheless. however,i think D&G did the Kubrick influence very poorly. Raf Simons did a better interpretation of that influence some years ago in his second season,i believe when he was inspired by 'A Clockwork Orange'.

do you have pictures of that raf simons collection, I’d love to see! :)
