^^ Ooooh! Jessica Stam, definitely. She has once said that "I guess I'm his muse," she has said of her mentor, Steven Miesel. He discovered her when she was 16 and cast her in "every ad campaign of his", letting her emerge as a star.

And according to wikipedia, he basically "discovered" Linda Evangelista, letting her reach stardom when she dyed and cut her hair and etc etc.

He also put James Rousseau, Heather Bratton (RIP, Heather baby.)

Maybe Karen Elson as well, because he was the one who persuaded her to shave off her hair & eyebrows...

Stella Tennant, Lily Donaldson (he cast her for LOADS of eds!!!)... Elise?

I'm sure there are many more, I just can't think of more at the moment.

the age newspaper in melbourne australia did an article condemning steven meisels editorial for vogue italia sept 2006, the one with hilary rhoda on the front cover today.

i had never seen it before so i decided to look up this forum. thanks for the links to the pics. it is different. the article was comparing some of the photos to the ones found featuring the bad treatment of the prisoners in the abu ghraib prison. it also was talking about the cover being vouyeristic and kind of sick.

the article made a good point, but im not sure if i agree with all it said. just thought i would share. it also said that there was a lot of uproar and controversy about this particular issue of vogue italia. i seriously had never heard about it before, hehe.
