Steven Meisel Three Hundred and Seventeen & Counting : Vogue Italia Covers 1988 - 2009

I love Meisel! My personal favorite is ‘Supermods Enter Rehab’.

Reading again and again this book at home and seeing what Vogue Italia has become (or Vogue Paris for that matter) I can't help myself wondering what Franca or everybody who knew her and worked with her would think of the disastrous state of the magazine nowadays. I feel sad wanting to always look back to the grand days of High Fashion when covers were the biggest think many of us were literally waiting for month after month:
- wanting to be surprised and wowed by Meisel's new theme and his interpretation
- wanting to see our favorite model on the cover possibly
- wanting to buy the magazine in paper and / or seeing the scanned pages here
ahhh gosh the good nostalgia of when I was buying 10-15 magazines every single month for a decade.

Anyways I would really love Meisel to publish a new book and to write, I love reading from him since he doesn't do video interviews like Testino used to do worldwide (I love to watch photographers talk about their work) or Nick Knight.

Can some moderator change the source? It's from Steven Meisel's proboards, but still, I retouch every cover over the last eight years. I shared it time ago in that forum (I'm the user "VI"). Also I would love to delete past posts from other years. I respot them because I can't edit my comments here. Thank you :flower::heart:

I remember going into a frenzy trying to find the Three Hundred and Seventeen & Counting book when it first came out, I can't even remember where I ended up ordering it from. It's fascinating that there aren't many used copies of it floating around to purchase, either, it looks like.

It's crazy that in, retrospect, buying this book was practically the only way to see all of Meisel's VI covers. Not all of them were online (or if they were, not guaranteed to be in high quality), so it was really a treat.

This one is broken link, I've uploaded again. If you find some comer with the same problem, reply here. Thank you :flower:

i have the book, bought it when it came out a while ago. it's really nice to have most of his cover in one place, tho the print quality could have been a bit better imho.

Good news. An angel (truly an angel, I can't say his name here because he's so huge) sent me scans of the couture, hair and beauty, cahier and shopping manuals covers from 1991 (the year VI started with the supplements) to 2007. Got them all. Also I'm working in some of the early covers again. I don't know when I will finish, but I hope pretty soon. I don't have so much time with my computer as I used to, but I think it could be between the next month or the other. Yeap, who needs the book when this thread will be complete and updated. All the covers from 1995 to 2021 will remain the same except couture spring 2000, fall 2000 and april 2011.

Those are the only covers I retouched again. The rest will be the same, except Couture SS 1999 and SS 2005.

Sorry for bumping up this. Made some fold outs thanks to my friend. I still cannot remove the gap from some of them, but at least those look pretty decent.

Steven Meisel proboards.

I'm still working with the Cahier supplements. I'm close to finish, maybe in two or three weeks or less if I have time.

And a preview because I need to show something new here

If new (and funny) people can be a member here without invitation, at least we need to edit or posts here  that would be pretty nice Xenforo.

Seeing these covers by Meisel, one of the most fascinating things about them is that even though a model is not so well known and has a great career, everyone on the team involved managed to make her a great star and shine!
