I find very interesting that Balenciaga , Dior Chloe and Stella McCartney have been left out this time, but Dries Van Noten really deserved his place in Style's list, he's going to be coppied like mad.
Alexander mcQueen is missing as well.
Personally I don't find Victor&Rolf or the Rochas collections that important, I bet those will not "leave their mark" on next season's trends.
Galliano's collection -even if it got real bad reviews from international press- will turn out "influencial" for mass market I can clearly see that, even though I'm far from being a Galliano girl myself.
Balenciaga showed in NY this time. (It is confusing since he keeps jumping back and forth.)
I agree that Dries should have made it, that collection was absolutely fresh and upbeat. Very individual (for his "tier"), and it's true that it will be copied. Positively astonished that Gucci's left off, and curious about McQueen's omission.
Viktor & Rolf was too retrospective, and at LV, the clothes "are the accessories" . Armani? surprised :? ... Chalayan? thrilled!
By the way, I ed Dior this past season. Galliano reduced the idea he began distilling some time ago, and it was wearable and gorgeous.
you mean summer03 or winter 03-04 xopher?
Galliano was practically fried -by the French Press- for his work at the recent fw Dior collection
I've got to post some of my hillarious after-the-Dior show exclusive pictures but it will take me one more week  to take care of pressing deadlines

Firstview has just taken off all of their Paris collections due to legal proceedings with the French! that means no more Dior/Dior Homme, Viktor & Rolf, Martine Sitbone, Ann Demeulemeester, Chanel, etc. etc.
I urge everyone to protest Firstview () in getting what we love the most back!!!
them french bastards...
:| .....well that's true i've tryed to go on first viev and was shocked by french designers disparition :|
The current Dior Fall 2003... I agree with four of Sarah's choices.
Press reviews tend to mean very little to me, unless they share my opinion of course.
Can't wait to see the pics!
LV and Prada were so boring, what are they doing in this list?? :? plus, since it's virtually impossible not to have tom ford on the list, i would have chosen gucci instead of ysl.
and it's unbelievable that she didn't put Alexander Mcqueen, his collection was absolutely brilliant.
Prada? For the first time in several seasons, I thought is collection really did matter since its direction was so "turnabout". Just my opinion, of course.
What an awful list. The people are Style are completely insane. :?
How could they leave off greats like McQueen, Issey Miyake, Junya Watanabe, CDG, Y's, Yohji or even Givenchy? :|
I love me some Viktor mrblue & Rolf, but there were shows that were much more substantial than this collection. Not that I didn't completely love it, b/c I did. I just thought it would be a little too obsc, I thought Prada was more prominent than in the past, but it was missing a certain something.
I thought so too until I saw different angles... then it became bizarre and interesting . I the ghostly ( ) levitation effect or even a sort of "production line" effect in contrast to its uniqueness.
It's oddly glamorous although I don't foresee her floating down many red carpets .
