Swedish Clothing

Shoppimg facilties in Norway is really bad.. That's why we're so stuck on these plain diesel jeans etc. If you feel like going shopping in Norway, the only real alternative is Oslo :p Norwegians dresses like crap, really.. That's mostly because it's a country where people live "on the country" if you see my point.. These sorts of people have no interest in fashion, trends or what so ever.. They only care about having the fanciest tractor:doh:

I'm not saying all Norwegians dresses like crap though :p Going out for a beer in my hometown, Molde, i have seen trendy and weldressed people aswell.. But it's more like this :P

OMG! I'm also from Molde! Totally agree that fashion sence in Norway is way off! None off my friends know what Balenciaga, Chloe or Luella are. And that picture is too true

Wow, you're from Molde? ;D Well i'm from Vestnes though.. :innocent: But i'm moving to Molde in short time.. Just need to get a job:P

Haha, yes.. I think that pictures reflects the common Norwegian nowdays very good too :D:D

:D Thought I might meet someone from Norway here, but I had no idea I would meet someone so nearby!

I like to think of Filippa K as the Swedish A.P.C.(or maybe the other way around), no logo, no frills clothes that look good and can never be over the top and are not worn to make a statement. The laid back-ness is well thought through and you can't knock a style - you don't have to like it though. If your DH jeans are too tight, take a deep breath before you start writing.
An interview with APC's designer can be found here; http://www.indexmagazine.com/interviews/jean_touitou.shtml

Julian Red is hands down the best jeans brand in Sweden, and even my favourite brand for jeans right now. Quality fabrics(some washes are selvedge), good fits and good washes.
The jeans are limited to 1200 pairs, of what I'm not sure, but I believe that it means each wash, ie there are only 1200 pairs of cali nasty and so on. Don't go crazy over buzzwords though, nothing is unlimited.

i think cheap mondays jeans are good for the price.. and in stockholm they warn about the shrinkage at least. ive got 2 pairs and they are still fine after washing and wearing them a lot. the other pair has bleeded some color but to me it just ads a bit more vintage look. i dont mind the logo either, my belt covers it! i also like their shirts and other clothes at the weekdays store. im planning on buying more cheap mondays when i go to stockholm next time..

i think acne is a good swedish brand. their stuff is rather simple but nice.

in finland we have some small independent designers lifting their head such as a deadbirds & lionheart, which is sold at the super mukava store in my town...ivana helsinki is pretty ok but its so damn expensive! but tuomas is right we dont really have any high end designers in finland, expt for shoes!

I grew up in Norway, I know quite a few well-dressed people, there are well dressed and not-so well dressed people here, just like anywhere else, really.

I don't know where that farmer picture posted here before was from, but I'm not sure I want to know either. Ew.:ninja:

heheh the farmer pic looks like any "country side" in europe...... :D

I hope you guys post some photos of the designer clothing (not the mass-market brands) to give us some ideas of what Swedish design is like :)

swedes are spoiled with their jeans, they dont appreciate the jeans just because its from sweden and so easy to get and have become usal. Seriously, i dont know any international brand in the same pricearea as nudie/julian red/acne who could compete with their denim/washes/fit except from APC.

Hehe. It's from my home town, and unfortunatly a lot of people from small towns in Norway dress like that:sick: . Yes there are a lot of well dressed stylish people too ( I know several from that same town), it's like any other place in the world. I just see a lot of people that dress like that every single day... Even when they are going out:doh:

Swedish fashion is both utterly black/boring and fantastic. Tiger, JLindeberg and Filippa K makes me wanna shoot myself out of boredom, but then Carin Wester, Carin Rodebjer, Lovisa Burfitt and Diana Orving comes and makes it all good again!
(carinwester.com, rodebjer.com, burfitt.com, tjallamalla.com)

you should think again if you love burfitt and hate JL. burfitts design is just tragic simple, you can barely compare this two labels, watch JLs wintershow. love.

JL aint hoodies with loggos, zzz.
