Blacklisted? Why?? :shock: I saw Lust,Caution and she was phenomenal, I thought directors would be clamouring to cast her after that

China is very conservative..they blacklisted Tang Wei because of her role in the film. They wont show commercials or movies with her in it. Ang Lee was spared because he is an artistic director of the Beijing Olympics. *le sigh* not sure how long the 'ban' will last
:( its a shame because she an amazing actress! Lust, Caution is her first film and she held her own with Tony Leung!

That is completely awful. Talent such as hers should be rewarded and praised not shunned because the role she played was somewhat risque. :cry::cry::cry:

Lust, Caution was an amazing movie. SO.Good. :shock:
She was amazing in it, and has a great career
ahead of her I hope that blacklisting will go away
...she's not as beautiful as Gong Li, but she's
certainly as talented...:heart::heart:

tang wei wasnt blacklisted so to speak,
many people (mothers) felt that to suddenly have her on every add would
give out a bad rep to younger children (particularly girls)
(i.e not famous before, but very popular after you complete a 6 minute sex scene naked in a film)

personally I didnt find the scenes artistic eiither...more like adult films
 
her next movie will be Crossing Hennessy

im glad to see she will be working again, she's a wonderful actress!
