Taylor Momsen

oh dear god, i think i may vomit.

I've grown tired of her act- it wasn't very attractive from the start... Maybe if (and it is a big if) she can somehow go back to the Jenny Humphrey role I'll pay attention again...:(

i agree about the sunglasses to me its the only thing ruining her outfits. i actually loved those new pictures at warped tour, the one with the iron maiden shirt and the last one there, with the black blouse.. to me that last one was the best outfit of 2010.

New pictures from SPIN magazine, her legs...

Taylor Momsen describes herself as a high-class hooker

Taylor Momsen is living the rock'n'roll dream life: The 17-year-old Gossip Girl star's new band, the Pretty Reckless, have just finished a successful run on the Vans Warped Tour and will drop their debut album, Light Me Up, later this year.

SPIN recently hooked up with Momsen in New York City to shoot photos for our September issue and talk about her rockin' fashion style, the "bad experiences" she's had, and why Rihanna annoys her.

"I'm Not a Role Model"----

That's what Momsen told SPIN over lunch in a New York City diner, after arriving dressed in thigh-high black nylons and itty-bitty jean shorts with her bleached-blonde hair cascading over skinny shoulders, a look she describes as "high-class hooker."

"I dress for myself," she says. "Clearly, it's provocative, but it makes me feel good. And if the only reason it makes someone uncomfortable is because I'm 17, then that person's a scumbag because it shouldn't matter."

What She's Not----

A "drug addict," a "crazy ****in' psycho who's gonna end up in the gutter next week," or a rebel.

"I'm figuring out who I am and what I want to be doing," she says.

A Provocateur----

On the Pretty Reckless' debut, Light Me Up, Momsen wails about getting damaged (the dive-bar anthem "My Medicine"), disrobing (the propulsive "Goin' Down") and fessing up to some "not-okay" urges ("Light Me Up"). Elsewhere, she sings, "I'll let you in through the back door" on a song that could just be about a house party. Right?

"I've Had a Lot of Bad Experiences"----

When asked about the basis for these suggestive lyrics, the otherwise chatty Momsen chooses her words carefully.

"I'm not really sure how to answer properly yet," she admits. "I've had a lot of bad experiences, and whether that's from sex or drugs or something else, they are adult experiences that would **** anyone up."

Rihanna Does Not "Rock"----

Momsen is very protective of what she considers "rock," a word she uses frequently.

"People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna's wearing ****in' leather jackets, and it's really annoying." (And Taylor thinks wearing a leather jacket equals rock...)

"Music Keeps Me Young"---- (Wait. Isn't she, like, 17?)

"I was at a point where I was getting up and going to work, but I was drained," she says. "Gossip Girl gave me a platform to make this happen faster, and I'm grateful, but if I'm not doing something that makes me happy, then I'm dying. Music keeps me young."

She's Not Just Another Actress-Gone-Singer---
-

"I know nobody wants to like our music. Online, people said, 'I really wanted to hate [the EP] but I like it.' I hope things continue on that path. But I'll be making more records whether people are listening to them or not."

Light Me Up is out later this year. Watch her video for "Miss Nothing" below:

My reactions:    :ninja: :yuk: :innocent:

^ That is not the way a high class hooker looks, btw...that is how the sad little girls down by the waterfront in run down bars look.... *shakes head *

She is so anti-pop meanwhile she agrees to be the face of Madonna's/Lourdes fashion line...Madonna is the queen of pop...

^ She's a poser. Period.

And she won't stop behaving like this (sl*tty outfits, ratty hair, gross makeup, stupid statements, "playing with knives"... the list is basically endless) till she grows out of her teenage rebellion years. And all comments about how dirty, used, inapropriate she looks will just keep on to enforcie her to think she reached what she wanted.

She really should switch back to normal quickly cause people will lose interest in her if she doesn't change. Sure, it's working for now but riding the GG popularity train and then going all dark side won't sell forever. And - I allow myself this statement now - she will never be a rockstar.
Amen. :)

How are they going to get her back into Jenny Humphrey mode?? I mean, she'd have to change everything very quickly...!

Ride the wave, Taylor. Rake in the dough. But try to avoid becoming Courtney Love.

Its a good thing she doesnt live in Australia. Our health care system would pay for her hospital fees if she were ever hospitalized. I do not feel the slightest bit sorry for her, regardless of the 'bad experiences' she's been through. What about the people in Africa, Asia and even in first world countries who are born into structural unemployment/dont have anything? She has had more than enough lucky offers. I am sure she is more than wealthy enough to buy help and its not like she'd be classified a slave;a person who is the property of and wholly subject to another. If she is one of those people who are THAT influenced by others, then I suppose thats natural selection picking out the weaklings.

On a fashion note, she has a really cool rocker boot collection. :)
