I've watched this girl's looks&antics for quite a while now....and while I don't really find anything revolting about them per se [hell,she's living every hipster teen's dream,I'll definitely give her that-all the little riot grrrls would kill to have the same opportunities],I simply don't believe she's intellectually matured enough to,uh,know what she's doing.no 16-year-old can be this experienced,really....it's all about fads-passions-crazes,but she doesn't have the background to really 'get into it'.the singing,or to put it this way,the overall character she's trying to impersonate....you need KNOWLEDGE & way more LIFE EXPERIENCE to make that believable.the tiny outlook she's had on life [and don't tell me about all the oh so shady and profound downsides of stardom she's confronted with...seriously]doesn't give her the credibility she's longing for. apart from the fact that noone would ever give her the possibility to live her life this way if she didn't have money & questionable fame for an even more questionable tv show.
I'm not picking exclusively on her as I'm despising the hollywood/tv fame culture on a whole,but she's one of the most prominent examples of what's going wrong there.

honestly, if you don't like taylor or her choices why are you even paying any attention to this thread? i don't understand why you guys are bashing her, she's just like any other girl her age. i was pretty much like her when i was sixteen, it's just the way things are. she's growing up. when she's eighteen she'll probably still be the same way but it won't be an issue because she'll be of age. people only have an issue with it because she's famous. i just think people should get over it.

anyway, i actually liked her outfit during the performance. i love all of her outfits.

i wasn't focusing on your comment alone, a lot of people actually are bashing her and it really bothers me. i just think it's unfair to her, i mean, if she wants to dress this way and act this way, she has the right and she shouldn't be judged on it just because of her celebrity.

What are you talking about? OF COURSE she should be judged BECAUSE she is a celebrity. Hello?! She wanted fame she's got it. Her sour attitude, unthoughtful comments added to her sl*tty attire equals a bitter distaste to fans or would be fans. That IS how celebrity works. She came out all smiles and Abercrombie, got "famous" and decided at 16 she would then be grunge/goth and pi$$y. I guarantee you when her band splits up she will be back to gorgeous, frilly glam gowns and red carpets cheesing it up for the paparazzi and their flash bulbs.

I USED to like her.

Now I follow her for the same reason we all follow/followed Michael Jackson, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears. It's interesting to see how someone can attain a certain level of fame and then shatter that fame into a thousand teeny tiny razor sharp pieces that slice them to bits and ruin that persona they worked so hard to build.

She puts herself out there, so we should be allowed to talk about the way she dresses. Otherwise this message board would be pretty useless.
While I was draw to her because I actually liked her style, it's just become somwhat apparent to me that she's always trying a little hard to create this bad-a$$ image for her and therefore she's really pushing it with her clothing.

It's up to anyone if they like her style or not. Generally, I like punk-rock a lot. Just like someone said, she oftentimes tries to impersonate the rock legends like Debbie Harry or Courtney Love and by that seems like a wannabe & a try-hard.

She's 16, so nobody expects her to have found her true self and stuff, but she acts (especially in interviews), like she's always been a punk rocker at heart, makes up stuff like having been bullied at school for being goth (which she wasn't) and with her behavior generally raises a lot of concern.

i always thought she was so cute and showed promise at the start of gossip girl but now..well its too bad. i've been called a prude, behind the times etc etc for these kind of comments but no 16 year old should ever leave her house dressed like she was. i mean, that kind of behavior benefits no one except the pedophiles of this world. i hope she has good people looking out for her, cause otherwise i think we all know where this is heading...

i understand what you all are saying, i can see both sides of the argument. my problem is that some of you guys are making these giant assumptions about her life, like it's certain that she's going to end up like lindsay lohan or amy winehouse. we don't know who she hangs out with on her off time and we don't know what she's doing. all we ever see are little snippets of her life, chance paparazzi encounters and sometimes they may look bad but it's not her entire life. i just don't think it's right to just label her as a bad seed.

See even though I think she is heading down the wrong path, I just bought tickets to the warped tour for my 2 teenagers and I (yes I am a teenage mom and we all like the same bands) and I am quite excited to see Taylor prove herself. I hate that she's funked over Gossip Girl though... Boo to that.

I can not wait to see what she wears through out the entire tour too!

i see your point. i think its just harsher b/c she's so young and having seen what those linday type girls did to themselves, one would steer clear from bad habits.
