My mother keeps dismissing Taylor Swift as a proper country artist, since she's from Pennsylvania. I saw the CMA Awards last night, just to see Taylor Swift. She did "You Belong With Me," and really had an awesome show and looked awesome. I usually think sundress + cowgirl boots with Taylor Swift, but she sported this indigo dress and some cute sandals. Taylor Swift loves dresses, whether casual or dressy.

Again, I'm not a country music person at all. Still doesn't stop me from being a fan of Taylor Swift.
 
^Taylor is both Country and Pop. Theres nothing wrong with being Country though, after all its her heritage right?
 
Well, I know she's country pop. Still, her music is wonderful. Most of her songs are just fun to listen to. "Our Soung" is my favorite of hers.

You know what? Taylor Swift is surely entertaining! You have to applaud her creativity and in just having fun. Lots of people can't even tolerate rap or hip-hop (unlike myself). But she can be pretty funny. Very cool video link (not to mention a smidgeon of potty mouth)!
 
I love how in that video she freaks out because they BEEP her and she didnt even swear! lol was so cute!
 
Yesterday on CMT, I saw Taylor Swift's behind-the-scenes look at "You Belong With Me" and the video for it. I think Taylor Swift is a proud blonde, but she looks radically different as a brunette! I am not sure if I can call Taylor Swift (or "T-Sweezy" :smile:) as a breath of fresh air in any kind of category. However, she's just vastly entertaining. She's very light-hearted and positive while also never thinking of herself highly. You know, she's not like an all-about-me person like Paris Hilton or something. None of that bad girl personality. Taylor is just more like a divine goddess who casts her magic with a guitar and an amazing voice. Just a wonderful person and a wonderful personality. I don't see how anyone can not like her or her music.

Since I've been hearing "You Belong to Me" more often, I may consider adding that song to my MP3 player.



[UPDATE] I forgot to note something... if that video of T-Pain and Taylor Swift was on YouTube or something, I would not only give it five stars, I'd favorite it too! That was just funny!

And a while ago i saw this episode of dateline on her and it showed the behind the scenes of her tour and i was really impressed because she controls everything. She writes all her songs, and directs the band telling them how she wants everything to sound. She decides every detail to everything. She is really talented!
 
I saw a few YouTube videos similar to that rap star thing T-Sweezy... I mean, Taylor Swift did. It was all part of the opening skit for the 2009 CMT Awards. The consistent theme was, "...but it's my dream." That even included dressing up as a Tennessee Titan (boo! (from a Houston Texans' fan)). As for Taylor's outfit, she wore a cute golden sundress paired with some earthen brown boots. I don't know about you, but I like this look of pairing a sundress with cowgirl boots. It's not a Texas thing, but there's just a cute touch to this. It's a shade different from sundress + flip-flops or sundress + chic sandals. But it just seems to work for Taylor and her Taylor-made (to make a pun) style. Just about everyone has their own signature style that can be worked to perfection. And for Taylor Swift, cowgirl boots and a cute dress go beautifully.

On maintaining who she is, famous or not: I’ve never felt like I needed to tone down being seen as a regular person. When I first started doing MySpace, I wrote by bio in the first person. I didn’t want [it] to look like a publicity promo site, so I was the one doing all the commenting, and I was the one putting up the pictures and videos. I’ve approached my whole career like that—I don’t see that ever changing.

On using her real life to inspire her songs: For me, rebelling is done with words: I love to write honest songs that name real people, then get up onstage and live out those emotions in front of of 15,000 people. Penciling in a night to get wasted is not something I want to do.

On the logisitics of having a boyfriend: It’s always going to be long-distance, even if I date the boy who lives next door to me in Nashville. I’ll be flying to see him and flying him places to see me. It feels like it would involve more scheduling, and I already deal with a lot of scheduling in my life. Of course, if I met somebody who was worth it, I would probably stop thinking that way!
