Teach me your language I teach you mine

I love Portuguese, it sounds so beautiful!!
 Dutch is like a mixture between German and Swedish but not quite..I can understand Dutch just based on my knowledge in Swedish and German.

In Finnish
Hello: Hei, moi, terve
How are you: Mitä kuuluu?
Bye: Moikka, hyvästi
Fashion: Muoti
Love: Rakkaus
I love you: Minä rakastan sinua
Eastern: Pääsiäinen
Spring: Kevät
Sun: Aurinko
:)

^Thank you for these :flower:
I love Finnish and it's been almost a year since I started learning your beautiful language... I enjoy it very much!

I really like this song - "La distancia adecuada" by Christina Rosenvinge but there isn't an English translation of the lyrics. I tried to use Google translate tool but I think a great deal of the metaphors and nuances were lost in translation so I was hoping someone could help me make sense of what these Spanish lyrics mean? Thanks!

"The Proper Distance"

"Never" for you is "maybe"
I wasn´t wrong
the displeasure will take away (desazon has a lot of different meanings...)
on this season
perhaps I shouldn´t have let you
play with my skirt
it´s so hard to keep
the proper distance

That Miss
who rimes with me
who hangs around you
is your favourite
she carries you with her
and you like her better than my song

Your key is on the front desk
it´s dawn already
I turn on the tv
I wait for your call
the evidence falls in drops
on my Prada sweater
the lesson I´ve already learnt
it´s always forgotten

That Miss
who rimes with me
who hangs around you
is your favourite

(y puede contigo: this song is in spanish from Spain, I´m from Argentina. Metaphors and nuances are different, but I think this means that she can do whatever she wants with him)

and you like her better than my song

and at the gym class I once took - the lady said 'Op' 'Terug' alot. so i think:
Op- Up
Terug- Down

In dutch, How do you say: I don't know?
please correct this: Ik moet gaan naar slaap. [i must go to sleep- i think i attempted to translate it literally, i don't know where words go]
In French, what does a word that sounds like 'aey' or 'ale' mean? The crowd says it a lot at the tennis- the French Open

Op- Up yes, she probably meant 'Omhoog' that's like 'Up'
Terug- Down that's like 'go back'
So it was like, up and down.

In dutch, How do you say: I don't know?
'Ik weet het niet'
please correct this: Ik moet gaan naar slaap. Ik moet gaan slapen. [i must go to sleep- i think i attempted to translate it literally, i don't know where words go]

Anytime! B)

anyone know how to say "on the bias" in french?
"on the straight grain"
and "cross grain" ??

ie. i cut fabric on the bias.

on the bias = dans le biais
cut on the bias = coupé dans le biais

spanish is my first language and english the second i begun learn it when i was 3. and portugues is the third one, i begun learning it 3 years ago. and at the begining of the year i begun learning German. but it's really hard, if someone could help me it would be great. and i can help anyone with spanish or portugues, just ask :flower:

^I´m from Argentina. I´ve been studying german for 2 years now, if you need help let me know. Perhaps it could be easier to understand an explanation in spanish :)

a question for the french tFSers - everytime i seach the lyrics of belleville rendez-vous, it's written "moi je veux être frippé, triplement frippé, frippé comme une triplette de belleville" - is it really frippé or is it a typo? because i've always thought it was fripé with only one P...

i'll ask my roommate when he wakes up^ he is from le sud de france :-)

anyone know what language 'recopilatorio' is from?
maybe spanish?
i am trying to translate it but i keep getting nothing in the online dictionaries --maybe there's an accent somewhere

'recopilatorio' is in spanish, no accent.

it's something that compiles, collect or gather together things using a certain criteria.

thanks^ it's from a soundtrack i'm listening to
i guess it might mean 'end titles'

there was another folder for the soundtrack and it was in english, with one called end titles...
