Lorde gets all tied up in red plaid on the May 2014 cover of Teen Vogue.

The 17-year-old international singer opens up to the glossy about fashion, Twitter and her new glamorous lifestyle. Check it:

On her fashion style: “There are a lot of expectations in this industry about looking a certain way and having a certain kind of appeal. I am feminine, but I really love dressing in boys’ clothes too. I guess that’s why I get labeled as ‘the grumpy girl,’ because I don’t play into that.”

On social networking: “I like Twitter because it’s a good direct link to people. You just reach out to someone you like and say, ‘Follow me please, and then we can talk.’ I really like Instagram as well. It’s a good one, very simple. I’m also on Facebook and Tumblr.”

On her new life: “Living in New Zealand, you don’t get these experiences. I spent so much time in my room before. My life is so wild right now. For me to be able to do something I really enjoy and for that to get me out in the world—to South America, to here, to London—every day I kick myself, I’m so lucky.”

To me, her face looks quite done up and airbrushed, considering the tagline. That said, it does stand out from the pack of Teen Vogue covers and she's just clearly a great choice to be on a Teen Vogue cover.

Seriously with these fall collections already? Fashion people needs to stop. We're just welcoming Spring few days ago for goodness sake.

Anyway, the cover looks really great and sublime.

her face looks great. really captivating. Not so sure about the styling but I like the face

The clothes take too much space on that cover. Maybe it would have been better if they had centered another way. And I think her arms sticking to her sides aren't helping.

I love seeing Lorde on the cover of Teen Vogue, it's a good marketing move, putting her on a cover that is aimed towards girls her own age. Plus, a lot of the things she has to say are very insightful and important for other teens to hear too (and for adults to hear as well). As for her cover, I think the styling is a bit messy, it swallows up her whole frame. That said, I like everything going on with her hair and makeup, it's very pretty.

Considering it is a May issue, this should be way more springy and light. This just feels to heavy and dark.

Who is she wearing? Is it Simone Rocha?
I quite like this cover, her face is unique. That being said it looks too much like fall
