“I’m so into ease and comfort at the moment,” said Alice Temperley during a walk-through of her draped and layered pre-fall collection, inspired by men’s soft tailoring — with a dash of dandyish flair.
The lineup was heavy on knitwear, including “twinsets” comprising jacquard dresses and coordinating coats or capes, skinny cashmere dresses and long patterned and fringed scarves. There was lots of tailoring, too, in the form of roomy, mannish overcoats, dresses shaped like suit jackets and trousers with volume.
Color came in the bold print — leopard and floral — of a long, backless dress as well as in the embroidery on a kimono jacket and the geometric tribal patterns on knitted scarves and coats.
