^No, let me restat that. I know what time they like I just have no clue about that type of music.

i would say that your best bet would be to put on your favorites...put on music that you really like and i think you'll be fine! we ask that some brief description of our likes and dislikes be included, but in practice, the mix trade is to get others aquainted with different types of music. so if you put on music that YOU like, i think you'll be ok.

and have fun! don't stress about it, this is supposed to be a fun project.

^ I've always viewed it as a chance to share music with a person that they might not be aware of or normally listen to. When i make them, i pay more attention to their dislikes than their likes. Of course, you want to give them something that might fit in with what they would like, but you can't always guess and i've never had a match that felt spot on - which is fine with me, even though i've had one of my mixes ending up in file 13.

that's the idea! i mean really, if they say they absolutely LOATHE hip hop, putting that on your mix probably won't make them excited about it. but i see it as a really good chance to learn about music i might not otherwise get an opportunity to hear...and i want that for everyone who participates in this project. you obviously can't go out and aquire new music that you're not so into just for the purpose of making this mix, so use what you have, put together a really nice mix and send it along! we're not all going to love everything, but i think giving it a chance is so important and you never know - you might end up loving a lot of new music!

i think i payed about 3 or 4 euros for the last cd i sent overseas, it depends on what kind of envelope you use ... if you use a cardboard cd jacket it's very light-weight, too

edit: or are you even in europe? i was assuming you're german but i don't actually know if you live there

oh really? that would be ok then. i calculated the price of an envelope that could hold a tape and it was 8€ at least. maybe i could just make a CD in case my match lives overseas.. hm. but you can't paste up a CD, can you? i'll send you my email in order to sign up for april.

Oh no! I just received a lovely mix from Pandinha (I'll post on the mix later on but for the moment -thankyou so much!!) But it is the road trip mix for February. I hadn't received an email for it (I have just checked the thread and saw that many people had this problem) which means someone out there who was matched up to me didn't get a CD. Would Estella or Francesca be able to let me know who that person was?
