tFS mix tape/cd project!

i'm sorry but i haven't posted any of my mixes..
i'll try to do them as soon as possible
besides it seems that even i haven't receive anything ;)but since i've been lazy, i'm also forgiving

About the theme, there are some pretty good ideas over at tinymixtape.com

My favourites:
- I'm hungover. Soft songs that won't hurt my head.
- music to remind me music can cure ANYTHING
-
songs to listen to on my ipod while walking around the andy warhol museum
-
Soundtrack of a, Yet to be Made, Wes Anderson/Tarantino Movie
-
Songs to eat cereal to

^nice themes pandinha.
i like the idea of songs to listen to on my ipod while walking around the andy warhol museum.

or it could be any art museum actually... perhaps a modern art museum.

mixing art and music, maybe what kinds of sounds/songs come to one's mind when looking at art, maybe?

the cereal one is great to!
i've done that a few times before!

The cereal one sounds funny  ...
but I also love the idea of what kind of music you might hear when looking at art ... either one sounds great to me! :flower: ... more themes or opinions, before closing time? :p ...

Gosh I am a nightmare so this is my apology post! I have been so behind but I have finally sorted myself out and spent the weekend making/checking/burning mixes and creating the artwork for them. Tmw I am posting my November mix and my September mix (I didn't get an October match -can one of the organisers check this?). I am also sending out my May mix that apparently I didn't send out (the person who was meant to recieve it sent me a message via Pandinha) and I don't remember being behind with any mixes from so long ago but I have sent them a copy of the September mix anyway -so sorry to that person! Also the fourth CD that is getting sent is a mix I posted, but the person had moved without informing TFS in time so I am sending it again (albeit many months after the first time I sent it!)

So if you haven't recieved anything, twas probably because of accursed ME! and four mixes are winging out soon.

Guilt take two: I have also recieved two glorious mixes in the meanwhile which I haven't thanked the senders for. Tmw I will list the songs and thank the senders properly. One of them (from Colette) is vying with Pandinha's March mix as the favourite mix that I have recieved so far so it is even worse than I have been enjoying it for two months without thanking her. More to come on this...

Right going to bed!

OK just read back so dont need the explanation about October. Also I have only recieved January, Two March (I don't know why?) and September mixes this year. But I guess people are as behind as me!

Oh hun, you're way ahead of me! I got one!
Maybe the two March are just labeled wrong. February had the road trip theme (the one I sent you, and thanks for the mention! ) and March was open-themed.
But do post them! It's been a while since someone did. And I think with Christmas break, everyone will catch up on their mixes.
I'm sending november until next week, promise. :p

ohmygoodness! :woot: This is fabulous! I'm sosrry that I didn't know about this sooner. I know about the gmail address, but how exactly do I sign up, and can someone tell me about the themes. Thank you SOO much everyone, what an exciting project

Hey yogini! ^_^
All you have to do is email us (me and Multi, that is) with the information required here. We should really pick a theme because it's already the 6th!
I'm not sure if we should skip december due to the celebrations or give more time to send it out, like mid-january. But that would delay all the next mixes. So... :ninja:

And I sent november today. :p

Cool.!
Done ;) I'm looking forward to this, and I think you should do December ! :woot:

Wow! My handwriting must be atrocious. Didn't you get a second CD Poppy?

 I had go do a report I was putting off at work so no time to spell check. Your handwriting is great but the font is hard to read.

... and yes I did get the 2nd CD- just didnt have time to post this morning:flower:

I've received today September's double mix from Sienna!

The first part had Picasso's Guernica on the cover. I listened to it today as I was reading Black Dahlia and it did quite a contrast since it's very smooth and soft going, with lots of piano. It's amazing and I didn't know half of the bands!

  1. Tori Amos - I Don't Like Mondays (The Boontown Rats)
  2. Rasputina - Mr. E. Leon Rauls
  3. Trespassers William - I Know
  4. T.H.C. - Need to Destroy
  5. Patti Smith - Sweet Jane
  6. Nina Persson - The Bluest Eyes in Texas
  7. Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Thrasher
  8. Morrissey - Came Back To Camden
  9. Ludivico Einaudi - Farewell to the Past (Zhivago)
  10. The Jam - English Rose
  11. Fiona Apple - Sullen Girl
  12. The Melanesian Brotherhood Tabalia - Jisas Yu Holem Hand Blong Mi
  13. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Lime Tree Arbour
  14. Patti Smith - Ghost Dance
  15. Bruce Springsteen - Something in the Night
  16. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - The Ship Song
  17. Bright Eyes - Something Vague
  18. The Libertines - 1/2 Cached Boy
  19. Tori Amos - Smells Like Teen Spirit
I never paid much attention to Tori Amos, but I really like the songs you included. I Don't Like Mondays, especially, catched my attention and I was on a crucial part of the book!
Nick Cave as well, I knew him but not as much as I wish I did. The sadness of his songs always pushed me away as much as they attracted me. And Bright Eyes! No matter how much Seth Cohen talked about them, I never brought myself to listen before. I loved it!

The second part has Robert Rauschenberg's White Painting [Seven Panel] as cover. I haven't listened to it yet, but i'll post the set anyway.

1 - Yet1 - Never Lose Your Sense of Wonder
2 - Parlour Steps - Libertine Takes a Lover
3 - Joey Ramone - What a Wonderful World
4 - The Cazals - New Boy in Town
5 - Ocean Colour Scene - Policemen and Pirates
6 - Remy Zero - Belong
7 - Kill City - Just Like Bruce Lee
8 - Van Morrison - The Bright Side of the Road
9 - Rufus Wainwright - California
10 - The View - Wasted Little Djs (Live)
11 - Adam Green - Emily
12 - Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising
13 - Paul Simon - The Boy in the Bubble
14 - Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention - Sofa No. 2
15 - The Cribs - Hey Scenesters
16 - Semisonic - Completely Pleased
17 - Croorer - Parker Posey
18 - Devendra Banhart - Be Kind
19 - Ian Dury - Sweet Gene Vincent
20 - The Small Faces - Itchycoo Park
21 - The Caesars - Fur and Games
22 - Bruce Springsteen - Rosalita (Came Out Tonight)

Thank you so much, Sienna, I love it! And when you come we'll go out for coffe for sure. Although summers here are Sun-like hot and winters aren't much better.
