Thakoon S/S 2023 New York

I imagine his clothes are very cheap? They must be, they look awful.

Even the model looks angry to be wearing them in some shots.

It's in that $100 - $300 category. The brand before the reboot has more expensive and creative.

I remember Anna Wintour in "The September issue" saying this guy was sooo good.

She needs to clean her sunglasses everyday.

No offensive but you're quoting a 2009 movie, that's like a couple of centuries ago in fashion.
But I agree, Anna Wintour needs to be removed immediately, she has perpetually failed US-made and NY-made fashion and we can't overlook her support for sexual predators in fashion.

Yes, it is from 2009...but back then Thakoon was as good as he is today.

^^^ LOL

The linen trench looks shabby-chic nice. I’d imagine someone on an extended excursion to Bali/Maldives/Ibiza would find some of these pyjama-style daywear fitting. Less stuffy and economical than Cruise collections.

(The level of creative incompetence for releasing such a hilariously inappropriately "styled" shot is just so deliciously witless. These are the days.)

COVID made me hate digital runways and presentations that I cant even appreciate the clothes.

LOL I was listening to a podcast the other day where he was a guest. He started discussing his time with AW and how amazing she was as a mentor and how she loved his clothes. Truthfully I had barely heard of him, but when I went for a refresher on his website I remember thinking the same thing @jeanclaude !!!!

If this inspires Anna, maybe there is hope for us all!

I wish Anna would think the same about Ralph Rucci!

^^^ Anna only stans the young.

Wasn’t it him that was working at Glenda's Bazaar during the day and taking night courses at Parsons…??? That must be at least over 10 years ago. If that’s him, then at least good for him for still standing and seemingly making a modest name for himself because, I frankly don’t know what his design aesthetic is-- but more power to him for cultivating a following. If I were a woman blessed with the means to travel extensively to island paradises, I’d wear some of these rags: They’re moderately priced, and I can roll around in the sand and turf being naughty and not worry about ruining these duds.

The overwhelming majority of Americans “designers” aren’t capable of producing a passable runway show anyway: It’s either a snooze fest or it’s a juvenile mess. They’re better off hiding their lack of creative talent and technical craftsmanship with a digital presentation— and still, they fcuk it up coz they’re just all too lazy/cheap/careless LOL

It’s not just the lack of talent in designers that’s plaguing this era. It’s an entire generation of photographers/creative and art directors/editors/stylists/management etc etc that’s contributing to the downfall of a once professional, experienced and refined creative high standard.
