The 2008 Summer Olympics : Beijing, China

Are you joking? It's CHINA. The host of the Olympics as well as the next economic and politcal juggernaut.

No one, least of all the Olympics committee, is going to DARE do anything.

This is the same Cold War propaganda tactics that they used in the 1980s on the eastern bloc. I am still waiting for Team USA to file that complaint but I am so sure it is so much easier to play victim and play to the emotions by crying foul to their own crowd than to actually dig up evidence. Anybody can link articles ( I can pay for articles in the same way that I can pay for birth certificates and just because americans don't play dirty are fair and honest and everything great in the world and china is "barbaric and uncivilized" I will believe that? ) that can easily be deliberately placed on the interwebz to provide more fodder for innuendo. And I won't even start on an ESPN article where somebody actually wrote that China was all quiet and virtually ignored Michael Phelps' 8 gold medal wins. And Bela, LOL.

Fortunately, there is Shawn Johnson, whom I love, love, love, cutest little thing and gracious as always (well, done! I loved that the Chinese gymnasts hugged her after her routine, and Nastia too-- I loved them for that.). Nastia too. And over-exposed, yeah, but Michael Phelps too. And countless others, hey I did feel bad for the Women's Track team, they were really likeable people and I was rooting for them too. These people just saved their country. I am neither American nor Chinese and nowhere in between, and my country sadly is an underperforming country in athletic events, but sportsmanship is a universal thing, sports is meant to be inspiring. Yeah, I think Team USA delivered on that.

Oh, yeah, Chinese diver Guo Jingjing, was really awesome too and so was Yulia Pakhalina from Russia and they don't get any love here. They were sort of emotionless robots on TV though or calm and collected depending on how you want to see them, maybe that's why, but, they were pretty much flawless. Diving is still very subjective to me, but I knew without knowing why that these women were really good and deserved their medals.

us men take the second set from serbia in the volleyball quarter finals:clap:

I loved it when he was doing the funky dance thing at the end and the crowds were cheering!

Anyone watched the women's pole vault on monday? I don't usually watch that sport, but I was so excited for Yelena Isinbayeva!! It was so incredibly exciting! When she set her 24th world record on her third try I literally screamed, haha... she was amazing!

Priscilla Lopes Schilep's bronze in the 100m hurdles was such a surprise! I'm ecstatic for her!

Bolt is just incredible.

lolo jones  but for every sad defeat there is a story of triumph. Congrats to harper, mclellan, and lopes-schliep.
