romania?? what's romania good in except gymnastics and a medal here and there i other sports??

fencing, handball, boxing, rowing,weight lifting, judo
for such a small country we're not bad at all
i just hope the romanians will get a decent number of medals

isn't usa's gymnastics team trained by romanians?

Thanks for starting this thread !! I am so excited about the Olympics! Football is of course the most interesting for me personally but I really hope my country could perform well in javelin and swimming etc.

lately she hasn't been that great i think she's changed her priorities she wants to enjoy her life more

i have faith that Sandra Izbasa is going to get some medals

^ all i know of are the girls at the 2004 games since then i haven't really been keeping up with all the newer girls and stuff

Sandra Izbasa is pretty amazing with her skills on the floor and beam, i don't think she has much artistry though like Catalina Ponor does but yeah she will definetely do well in Beijing! Do you know of a list of some sort which tells us of who will be on the gymnastics olympic team for USA, Russia, Romania etc. ?

i admire these girls so much they work so hard and risk a lot ( i saw on the news a once promising romanian gymnast who was injured and got paralyzed )

I find current gymnasts to be too concerned with technicality. There's no artistry anymore.

Svetlana Khorkina? yeah she was amazing, very tall and graceful but she's just had a kid so i guess she's retired. Her sister is a gymnast too: Yulia Khorkina.

Yes I agree, it's all about doing the most complex routines and the artistry is just not there anymore, sadly.
