Being able to remember The Face, I find there's something faintly embarrassing about these editorials, like they're a watered-down pastiche - but if this were a new publication, I don't think I'd be looking at the content in that way.
When you revive a title, how true do you stay to the heart and soul of the original? Even with the best of intentions, can that even be done, given how much time has passed and how many changes have occurred?
It might seem like a good idea, to resurrect a known magazine, and trade on its values, but after a while, where do you go with it? Because you can never - authentically - go back to what you were, but if you do something radically different, then why wear an old hat in the first place?
