What have you tried thats bad? (anything not just products)

Example : cutting your eyelashes thinking it would grow back etv. This is the JUST BAD! in beauty.

For me , the worse thing ever was Origins , it made my pimples go WORSE.. oh I had such terrible times , also commercial apple cider vinegar made my ENTIRE face bleed and what else can i say? not using a moisturiser was the biggest mistake i ever made!

Dr. Hauschka's products made me break-out like crazy. It took weeks for my skin to recover. I used that rose-moisturizer and wash-lotion. It was the worst thing I used, after the toner of the Cliniques 3 Step programm.

Using moisturizer on my face (not compatible with my oily skin)
Cutting my hair by myself

Proactive - it completely sucked all the oil out of my skin. My skin was so tight and dry it was painful!

I LOVE Aveda products, but I tried their line of face products and it was way to gentle to get all the gunk off my face that I put on every day. I tried to tell the person that sold it to me that my face was breaking out because it wasn't getting clean. They tried to give me some story about how my face was "purging." Yeah right. Not 4 weeks later!

I think my worst mishap though was dying my hair black. Not a good color for me. I decided I wanted to go back to my natural brown color, but the black had taken hold and was not letting go! I had to completely bleach out my hair to get the color out, wait a few weeks, and then have a "natural" color redeposited back on. The worst part was the oozing blisters I had on my scalp from the bleach to take all the color off. My hairdresser told me he couldn't believe I had any hair left after all that chemical processing. But to be honest, I still don't think my hair has forgiven me for it.

I'm with you on that one not only did it stink but the whole clinique 3 step program SUCKED AND IF you want a glow there is no point of buying the yellow clinique moisturiser it makes you looks so dull..

Aveda products are not for me then.

But then you have to remember that everybody has different skin types. What may/may not work for someone else doesn't necessarily mean the same for you ^_^

Almost everything listed thus far, I've done , not necessarily with great results... but nothing disastrous. Trimmed my eyelashes, cut my own hair (always), done absolutely crazy things with bleach (with no noticable damage or change to my hair condition/scalp)... shaved off my eyebrows, which hasn't been mentioned, but I can predict it will. They grew back in about two days. My skin and hair are extremely resilient.

Man, I had ONE bad eyebrow wax and it took me 8 months to recover (and they never were 100% right ever again). I am jealous.

When I was 11 I dry shaved my armpits.........ahhh youth

Origins has been very good for my skin (knock on wood)! I'm glad that the terrible times are over for you. What are you using now? And oh, good god, the apple cider vinegar story.

All I can think of is the time my sister and I were playing hairdresser when we were kids. Usually we played with a pair of plastic scissors, but not that day. I was the hairdresser.

Also, I tend to get tweezer-happy.

Do not touch Clinique Clarifying Lotion IV:ninja:. It contains huge amount of alcohol and it can burns your skin:shock:.

this reminds me of an eyebrow book i was browsing and apparently when Sophia Loren was big and her eyebrows were shaven and penciled in (that aggressive, 'stroke-by-stroke' look) many women followed suit. But unfortunately for some, their eyebrows never grew back...

...the book mentioned that apparently eyebrows help people make character judgements and the only person in hollywood without eyebrows is Woopi G. but this trivia is probably outdated now.

Really? What about the spot remover.. that was awful.. I couldn't even get it off .. jsut awful

I'm using Mario Badescu Acne facial cleanser (I love it:shock:) and then using TN DICKINSON witch hazel face wipes ^_^

Teezer happy.. that never did me any good

All of you guys I have to say.. I've kinda tried the same things... and it didnt turn out superbly well =/

Oh my gosh. I have many.

Retin-A RUINED my skin. I never stopped breaking out.
Alpha Hydrox (Glycolic Acid) products break me out like NUTS. Everyone else gets a healthy beautiful perfect skin cure from them apparently and of course, not me!
Dessert Beauty scrub was pretty bad too. $45 and it just slid down the drain like a $2 drugstore variety. I don't know WHAT I was thinking!

I forgot to mention this one! When I was getting microdermabrasion treatments, the aesthetician told me to use a line of facial products from Obagi. They were supposed to work along with the treatments to continue to smooth out the tone and texture of my skin. The first night I put the stuff on and left it on evernight (which was what i was supposed to do). I woke up the next morning and my entire face was swollen twice it's normal size and red as a beet. I looked like I belonged in the Macy's Day parade.

Hm...I find that hard to believe. ;)
Ok, less than a week, wink wink, hyperbole

And that is true; I can't see why anyone would find it so hard to believe. I find it damned hard to believe anyone's eyebrows would never grow back, or take over 6 months...
