The Last Movie You Saw?

Hero
(now placed in my top 10 greatest films I have ever seen)

Just being curious, ^_^ , what exactly did you find special about that movie? I personnally thought it was pretty ridiculous and stopped watching after like the first part where the students continue studying even if half of them are killed by attackers throwing arrows.

The visuals were quite amazing, esp the fight sequences, but other than that, some of it is too ridiculous.

The movie gets better, there are a lot of twists, you have to keep watching to get the whole story. I cant remember where that scene was...I think it is towards the beginning...a lot happens after that.
In that scene the students are doing calligraphy, I believe the idea was that words are immortal. Something like that, and calligraphy was very important in Chinese culture...especially during that time period. So it was probably something they did out of bravery and honor.
I liked the movie because it was visually beautiful and the story was great. By the end of the movie you really dont know who is the "Hero" It could be any of the characters, they all have different causes they truly believe in. One cause is not more correct than the other, but they are each heroes in their own way.
It probably helps that I saw it with my boyfriend who is excellent at analyzing films. :flower:

"Rear Window" by Alfred Hitchcock starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly! I loved it and the clothes! I really like the nurses red bag it was pretty:woot:

BATTLE ROYALE (the first one and not the poor excuse for a sequel battle royale 2 : requiem -wtf was that about?)

Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. I have to watch it again to fully understand it, what a film! Michel Gondry is a genius.

House Of Flying Daggers.

i was on a date - the movie was good, but the guy is no longer on the scene :innocent:

The Incredibles, I didn't think it was as good as it's hyped up to be.

Thanks for the info Floatingworld, I just might give Hero another shot. Gosh, I am so impatient. ^_^
