It's A Wonderful Life-- I don't get how people watch this every year! It's excellent but James Stewart is so good at acting angry/anxious/depressed that it's uncomfortable to watch. Pretty dark IMO.

I want to see that! In Argentina we have our own The Room, it's called Un Buen Día (A Good Day) and it's a terrible, terrible movie.

My last movie, Animal Kingdom, with the terrific James Frecheville. I hope to see more of him.

Justice League - enjoyable and fun, especially the human aspects, better than Wonder Woman

James will likely be nominated as Best Actor for his portrayal of Tommy Wisseau. And going by how gimmicky Hollywood likes to sell their winners-- in this case; an enigmatic, wealthy actor-wannabe and overall reject weirdo portrayed to tone-perfection by Hollywood's own charismatic golden-boy weirdo, will likely win for Best Actor. And unlike so many past Oscar winners, James deserves this.

James is hilariously endearing and creepy as the man-of-every-mystery Tommy. Seth should be in this film more-- he's so lovable. The only glaring weak link is Dave. I don't know if he's just not a good actor or he's playing Tommy's obsession Greg as a cartoon, down to the wig, beard and makeup that has him looking like a drag king. Plus the real Greg was very tall and seeing Dave's Greg noticeably shorter next to James' Tommy was a huge distraction visually.

I saw Mudbound last night. I can't say it's a "perfect" film in any sense, but it was very powerful and it features an incredibly talented cast.

I just saw "Call Me By Your Name." Good, but I think it could've been better by cutting out some scenes..a smidge too long in my opinion. The peach scene was one of Hollywood's better depictions of sexually objectifiying items from the produce section.

I feel like I have lived 3 Idiots Don't know anything about the movie, I admit, but the subject matter, so familiar

I found the peach scene--really the peach discovery scene--remarkable as well. What I thought it really captured so well was the gap between them. I couldn't really get a handle on Armie's character, he was all over the place, I suspect because he was poorly executed. I look forward to the rest of Timothee's career ...

I kept thinking "Why are they wearing these old, outdated clothes from thrift stores?" It didn't dawn on me until the very end that I realized, "Oh, it's supposed to be set back in the day." D'oh!

^^^ They were lugging around Walkman… did that not perk up your ears to it being the 80s…??? LOL (Beach Rats is supreme. I had posted that it's in the trifecta alongside Larry Clark's Kids and Gus Van Sant's Elephant.)

fashionista: Armie's character was very real to me… There are more straightish men out there that are more fluid with their sexuality when the right person shows up in their life (like me... LOL)… Doesn’t necessary make them gay, or bi. I wonder if some straight women— no matter how liberal they may convince themselves to be, are more prone to recoil when faced with the reality that their man may be more open-minded than they appear to be when it comes to being attracted o another man. It’s like they’re all good and absolutely supportive when it comes men being bi, coming out etc, when are a tad (a lot) more hesitant when it’s their man. And that’s the opposite of the women in this story: The girl that Timothee’s character has thing with, was understanding and wanted to remain close with him.

For that, I liked Armie's character so much more. The kid was fine— and absolutely overrated for his performance (of which I’m sure he’ll receive a nomination for come Oscar-time), but he’s clearly gay so there’s nothing more that’s interesting about him in terms of where he may go in his life. Armie’s that guys who is getting married to a woman— and may end up meeting another man (like me… haha...) who will change his mind… again.

of course, add "another woman" to that too. If it's their partner, I want to know who's open-minded enough to genuinely congratulate them for being attracted and pursuing something with somebody else.

I understood that Timothee’s girl has no idea and thinks the emotional overload is about the hookup itself?..

I loooved the early eighties stuff... it's like one of those bad catalogs Deborah Turbeville would do when she would do everything and anything back then. Also Amira's always so gorgeous, such a peaceful presence on screen.. gonna miss her at Versailles.
