The Last Movie You Saw?

Paddington - lovely, sweet, amusing, one of the best movies for everyone!

Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991) with Christina Applegate. It was as funny as I remembered it from my childhood

The Contempt by Jean-Luc Goddard. Probably one of the best films I've ever seen.

"Roxanne, Roxanne" on Netflix. One of my favorite rappers growing up, so I was happy to see her story come to life.

(Donatella, please, do not start using big, gold doorknocker earrings next time you wanna show hip-hop culture at Versace.)

Three French films I watched yesterday:

Godard Mon amour
Ismael's ghosts
Si tu voyais son coeur

And today I'm watching

D'après une histoire vraie

‘Suicide Sqaud: Hell to Pay’

It’s nice, but I liked ‘Batman: Assault on Arkham’ more.

I read the book last year. It was very thrilling. Let me know what you think of the movie when you watched it

Ugh, I liked the idea of the story but the movie was really bad and so predictible.

A Quiet Place.

Felt more like a Netflix throwaway offering than an actual movie. Standards seem so low these days that such a basic offering is being so highly praised. Watching the What The Flick?! brigade rave about this, I’d have thought it was something so superduper shiny and new I’d be blown away over and over… But it’s just a so so so basic paint-by-numbers, hide-and-seek from the monsters trope.

So much illogical plot devices— and so much stupidity on the part of the characters, I’m already taken out of this film before it could say anything remotely fresh. I guess people that find basic jump scares exciting, will likely be the targeted audience…

(And I still don’y know what else Emily Blunt is in.)
