Church Offers Advice To Doherty
Sadly not the religious institution, but the Church of the singing Charlotte variety has been sticking her oar in over Pete Doherty’s drug problems. Apparently she’s found a solution to the problems associated with serious drug abuse…
Apparently
Charlotte has worked out how to help
Pete Doherty: a combination of tough love and a quiet night in should do the trick as the former Voice of an Angel explained,
"He thinks no one understands him but of course we all do. You're just being a w*nker. Go home."
Charlotte helpfully suggested that
Doherty could solve his addiction to heroin by simply staying in and watching telly, or – failing that - going to Thailand to help some orphans.
However, she seems to have overlooked the fact that the
Babyshambles frontman’s last ‘trip’ to Thailand wasn’t exactly what you’d call productive.
And in other, less relevant, yet similarly embarrassing, news, Church has vowed to help
Robbie Williams get over his depression by saying, "Poor
Robbie. I'll call him. He should come to a pub quiz with me and my Mam."
Which would obviously help a great deal.
In other
Doherty news, the star has announced he will be launching his own pay-per-view subscription website for fans to get an insight into his private life, meaning fans in Canada can feel like they’re really there in his flat in Whitechapel.
Along with friend
Paul Roundhill, the singer has unveiled
www.balachadha.com which currently features four hours of footage of
Doherty, performing, relaxing and talking to friends.
Roundhill told The Guardian: “When I first met
Peter I felt he had multimedia potential and he would break the mould, dismantling the barriers between the band and the audience. The potential for him to work in different media is immense but it also is necessary for him to keep control.
“This site is making a statement. It's a way for
Peter to be in control of all the different aspects of his work."
The name of the site, Bala Chadha, means ‘top blonde’ or ‘good white’ in Bengali and is drug dealer slang for crack cocaine. Classy.
The band’s now impossibly massively anticipated debut album is currently reported to be released on
October 10. In addition the single after that is being reported as being
‘Albion’ with a release date of
September 26.
