The Most Beautiful Dress You've Ever Seen...

:wub::wub: Sonam Kapoor wore this beautiful gown in cannes 2013. btw, does anyone know who is the designer?

That's from Anamika Khanna, a couture sari designer from India. She wore another outstanding sari from the brand at this year's Cannes too.

The fluidity and precious-ness of this dress is stunning.

I love when MGC and PPP lets the fabric do the talking.

^^ That Valentino dress is gorgeous. It fits her perfectly. I miss that kind of Valentino.

These have probably already been posted but oh well.
Anything from the McQueen Fall 2011 collection really but these were the standouts for me. The detail is impeccable and they still blow me away to this day. I loved the whole theme of 'The Ice Queen and her court' and these clothes are truly fit for a queen. Perfection!

And I think it's soo pretty (and so is she)

As a huge Game of Thrones and fashion fan, I have to say one of my favorite dresses ever is Sansa Stark's Northern wedding dress. The actress, Sophie Turner, pulled it off so well and it makes so much sense with the setting and the character. Props to Michelle Clapton, designer of the dress for taking so much into consideration, here is her take on the gown...

Despite the horrific circumstances surrounding Sansa's marriage to Ramsay, this is one of my favorite dresses in the entire series, and one of Clapton's favorites as well. It is loaded with symbolism, too."It’s Sansa trying to respect everyone that’s been before her. She finally feels like she can make Winterfell a family home again. So I wanted to incorporate pieces that represented her family."

To that end, the feather collar represents the fur pieces that her brothers and father used to wear when they went into battle or off hunting. The shape of the dress was inspired by her mother and the fish clasps on the front are signifiers of the Tullys, her mother's family house. The shape was also engineered to look a bit like the statues in the crypt at Winterfell.

The dress caused a bit of an issue on set, though. "The funniest thing was on the day of the rehearsal, they had set up this snowy path. [Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa,] walked up the path in the dress and it was like a snow plow. It cleared the whole path because it was so big and heavy. They had to reset the snow every take," Clapton laughs.

Again, it's so northern with much of the dress being a coat, the texture of the fabrics, the different layers to keep warm, the fur, the heaviness of it, the full skirt, the train, the silver adornments... she really looks like a proper ice queen which reflects her character. The silhouette is amazing, only a girl as tall as Sophie could pull it off and her hair color and the updo only takes it further. I gasped when I saw her on screen.

It's currently on display at the Louvre in Paris replacing her black feathered gown from last season.
