i like the dior one the best
monique's looks awkward, and kors looks like he didn't know whether or not to make it a formal or casual dress

^^ It was from SS 2005. :) Good find!

Wow, it never fails to amaze me how great an eye people have for catching these things! :flower: I love the Lhuilier one best.

Good find, ibimus. That looks a lot like the Balmain dress, from what I can tell.

Looks like John G. had some inspiration.

If you peer closely at the details, it looks like Galliano copied the dress completely.

^ That's an uncanny resemblance! Who is the designer/what is that second dress from?

Looks like Karl Lagerfeld used this dress as more than an inspiration for Chanel's SS06 collection:

Lanvin 1926 and Chanel SS06

Blogger said it was from a Paris store called Galeries Lafayette.

The two dresses look so similar I'm wondering if a) they're the same Dior dress or b) Galliano completely copied someone else's work.

That's the same Dior dress. It's got to be some display cause that dress is identical to the runway one, the embroidery gives it away.

lol the 2 dress are the same dresses by Galliano for Dior couture.
maybe it's brought around at other places for display
infact that wedding dress is in Dior's window display at Dior paris flagship on avenue montaign after the show

I have to say versace dress and chole dress was from the same season and year if you judge who copied by who does later i judge chole but in this case i think it's coincident.

high street designer "imitations"

couldn't find a dedicated thread for this....

i know there's lots of it about, but this copy is surely going too far!!!!

Designer "Rare", sells via Topshop, and made this "copy" of RM's Moon Dress as worn by Victoria Beckham...

RM $1000 vs. Rare, £60

... the Topshop version - from designer Rare - is already being sold in its Oxford Street branch, with 16 other outlets to follow by the end of the week.
Staff at the Central London store were frantically trying to keep up with demand for the dress, which is available in sizes 8-14 and comes in a lurid pink, as well as a more sober grey and black.
"It has been selling like hot cakes and is being restocked on a daily basis," said one source. "I have seen lots of customers in-store walking around as they browse and clutching on to theirs for dear life."

i think this is high street gone too far! that's like stealing the original designer's idea completely.
i dont understand why people think it's horrible when fake designer bags are made but not fake designer clothes.

i understand high street(and pretty much every retail store) lives on water downed designer look a-like pieces, but cloning an exact piece is just oddly wrong to me. especially when this copy cat "designer" is given the title of a designer!
